Communist symbol returns to Russian Army's flag

Russia's Parliament has voted to restore the communist-era hammer and sickle to the official flag of the Russian Army.

It is expect President Vladimir Putin will ratify the move in time for next week's commemorations marking the end of World War II in Europe.

If so, Russians will again have the Soviet version of the victory banner for next week's Victory in Europe parade in Moscow.

For many Russians, especially the elderly, its symbolism is immense.

The red banner, together with the hammer, sickle and a white star, was the one raised on the Reichstag roof on May 1, 1945.

Millions of people all over the world know that photograph, but in Russia its significance is much deeper, with the Soviet victory over fascism in World War II remaining something seen in almost religious terms.

Making such an absurd analogy shows you are COMPLETELY clueless.

The ones who are clueless are those, such as yourself, who didn't understand the semantics of my statement, and weren't bright enough to realize they should have asked for clarification.

Only because there's an infinitesimal chance you might be capable of understanding, here's the analogy:

1. Rightly or wrongly, the Soviet flag is hated and despised by many people.
2. Rightly or wrongly, the Confederate flag is is hated and despised by many people.
3. Rightly or wrongly, many people in Russia view the Soviet flag in a positive light, often for reasons that have nothing to do with why others hate it so much.
4. Rightly or wrongly, many people in the Souhth view the Confederate flag in a positive light, often for reasons that have nothing to do with why others hate it so much.

Next time, ask what was meant before shooting off your mouth.

The analogy I would draw would be the Confederate flag.
