We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
We've always bashed liberals here. Unless you've missed the Zot threads.
Anyone pushing Rudy while bashing Fred ain't much better than the brain-dead DUombies that compose our serial retreads.
Dont' be saddened. Its a great day for Free Republic. We're getting back to our conservative roots. Most of the banished posters had been promoting a liberal candidate named Rudy Giuliani for POTUS. They forgot what conservatism was all about. For some, they never really understood what conservatism was all about. For their ignorance and arrogance, they paid a price. ZOTTED!
JimRob has had enough of all the pro-liberal BS and anti-conservatve rhetoric being spewed on HIS forum. Around FR advancing conservatism, defending and defeating liberalism the are the key reasons this forum exists.
No. What were you implying?
Oh, and stay away from me. I dont like you.
I don't care.
runfredrunfredrunfredrunfredrunfredrunfredrunfredrunfred...
Yeah, I tend to stay away from the "zot threads."
A bunch of morons posting pictures of lightning and giving each other virtual high fives just ain't my thing.
Diff'rent strokes, I guess.
“all they’ve done is lay out a case for their candidate?”
That is a lie.
Before you get too far along, try looking at 6604.
Just sayin’
Well, then, I guess you never realized that liberals (and those who promote liberal candidates) are the subject of much abuse when they post on FR.
“Do you really expect me to do that?”
No sir! I would expect you to hold out for a hero...Fred Thompson (which is what i’m doing!)!! ;D
I don’t understand how people think that Giuliani can win. Both the gun rights groups AND the pro-life groups are going to fall on him like a ton of bricks.
I agree, and I don't think we will get it from a candidate who says that we can take him or leave him, and it's fine with him either way.
I can't imagine Mitt Romney, or Fred Thompson, giving up on putting the republican coalition together.
LOL!
Really? Here is post #50 in this thread:
So you prefer Hillary, then?
Because that's the choice you know; a not-so-socially-conserevative Republican or another eight years of the Clintons.
The famous response came 6 posts later.
Telling the owner he prefers Hillary is laying out the case for your candidate?
Well said!
Frankly, I've always been grateful for the existence of the "zot threads."
They give the true knuckle-draggers around here something to do while the grown ups talk politics.
Cool. BTW, did some early research on my thesis at UNC, NC State, and Duke.
You really should see the doctor so you can get that stick removed - you know, the one up your arse.
[N]either the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt.
Samuel Adams, essay in The Public Advertiser, Circa 1749
(note here: manners here doesn’t mean politeness. It means ways of doing things.)
