Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I’m very well aware of which posts I responded to and conversly

You confused me and Zeroisanumber. Your post to him #6503:

Your earlier statement that if someone leads you in the wrong direction means they are not a great leader. That is a foolish mindframe. You didn’t like the Hilter reference, which was indeed very appropriate to counter your argument

Zeroisanumber did not make that statement about a wrong direction, I did. Furthermore, Zeroisanumber did not say anything to you about your "Hitler reference," I did. And your Hitler reference and your entire point were ridiculously unnecessary because of the context of the conversation Zeroisanumber and I were having.

Yet in your zeal to pile on with the vitriol and get your jollies (as exemplified here: "I found my first weekend here to be rather interesting to watch (lol). Freepercide...that’s funny."), you couldn't help yourself but tell others who had no interest in what you had to say that they were wrong, and continuing to accuse people of making false statements here when you were already told that you weren't framing the discussion in the proper context.

You could have opposed either your view or his, but didn’t.

Why would I have opposed my view ... and the point of the discussion we were having is that I opposed his view. What are you even talking about?

I even asked you if you disagreed with me.

I've made it abundantly clear that I do.

I even put it into the context you two were discussing.

No, you didn't.

Maybe you just didn’t make your point. I can’t disagree with you because you haven’t said anything.

Maybe you failed to understand the point ... which is: We were talking about leadership in a context that you ignored when you went off praising Hitler's leadership qualities.

Debate your point, or simply don’t answer someone elses post, would be something to consider.

I've debated my point everytime ... feel free to read through my posting history. But don't come butting into my conversations telling me that I'm wrong or how to behave with my posts.

M. Thatcher’s door to take her into the loony farm. She’s one crazy liberal.
IMO, to call a true conservative a liberal is defaming them. What proof do you have that she is a crazy liberal? Why do you do that; and, moreso, when they cannot respond? Why are you adding more fuel to the fire? What part of "Do unto others as you want them to do unto you" don't you agree with? If you are TRULY standing behind 'Godly principles' where does that, His Words, fit in?

Go back through this monster thread and witness the insane behavior of the dearly departed MThatcher last night when she was equating an animated gif file of an Office Depot technican pounding on a malfunctioning printer with 'threatening a candidate' and demanded JimRob to remove it from the thread or she would call the FBI and her 'powerful media friends', she Freepmailed her opus to JR, and then flew the coop with a cackling 'I'll get you yet my pretty!'.

Any conservative good she might have done on FR was undone with that clearly unbalanced behavior, which is ironically the hallmark of many a former FRiberal who jumped ship and ran off to MadIvan's Rudy-RINO Freak Show.

Hey, they might even have an extra name or two you could adopt as your own, and hey - you can tell MThatcher we all said "PFFFFFFFFFTTTT!!!!"

Don't you go invoking that whole 'Godly principles' gambit in defense of a turncoat like MThatcher. In a perfect world, she would be slapped with a restraining order prohibiting her from using the name of the second greatest Prime Minister in British history. She sullies Lady Thathcer every time she posts with her moniker. Shame on her, and shame on you for defending the indefensible.

“Peach, FairOpinion, King Prout, quidnunc - all of whom contributed so much - are gone because they did nothing other than stand up for their convictions.”

BS Detector went off the chart. I sat here and watched Peach go out of her way to antagonize Jim Robinson and spite him by saying things that he warned her would find her zotted. That is not standing up for conviction. That being an arrogant despicable person. She got what she deserved. I feel safe to say that the others were routed in like fashion, knowing the integrity and focus of Jim Robinson.

>> trying to build party unity and take the congress. Once that was achieved, something happened.

Power corrupted. It always does. Electoral success should not have been our goal; at least not high on the list. All that elective office does is make us the bad guys of the world and twist our souls into the bargain. As Nock put it, who appointed us to play the role of Deputy Providence?

Conservatives believe not in governmental power but in a good society... harmonious, civilized, morally uplifting life. That is an end achieved by private effort and, as nearly as possible, private institutions; what Russell Kirk called the "permanent things" -- family, church, schools that pass our best values from one generation to the next. Private ownership (termed the "last transcendant right" by Richard Weaver) and free markets. These are the tools of free men.

Conservatives believe in the principle of subsidiarity -- do whatever needs doing at the lowest level of coercion possible. Do things privately if you can (and that is most of the time). Failing that, call on local government and no further, for local officials are the most responsive to the public. Only if local government fails can we go to the state government. If that's not enough, call last on the federal government, but with greatest misgivings -- for the bureaucrats and politicians in Washington are far removed from the people and unresponsive to our needs.

Leave it to the liberals to put all that in reverse gear and go straight for control of the federal government. Power is their god. It's a disease and a corruption.

I’ve sort have taken him under my wing...I’ll pass a word to the wise...

I wouldn't, but if that's what you'd like to do, pass along that he shouldn't post this kind of stuff either:

"I found my first weekend here to be rather interesting to watch (lol). Freepercide...that’s funny."

Some of us are going to miss folks like Peach and some of the others, and crap like that from someone who signed up six days ago is insulting and isn't going to win him a FRiend with me.

No, he's Gothic.

I assume you're joking? If not then that's pretty lame.

Why does he fly the Union Jack on his profile page?

My point being: On his site "Wide Awake", he lays out his principles about the Constitution, the Founders, the Republican Party. If he's a Brit, he has no dog in this fight. If he's American, then he displays a brazen lack of disrespect towards the free republic he supposedly cares so much about.

I am saddened that people such as Peach, FairOpinion, King Prout, quidnunc - all of whom contributed so much - are gone because they did nothing other than stand up for their convictions.

With respect, that is simply not so. NO ONE has been banned for 'standing up for their convictions'. They have been banned because when they continually failed to convince others of the correctness of their convictions, they resorted to ridicule, abuse, deceit, sophistry and subterfuge in attempts to bully, intimidate and otherwise impose their 'convictions'.

They were allowed great latitude and were given repeated warnings to cease the LYING and ABUSE, and when it because clear to JR that they had no intention of heeding those warnings, he had to act, and quite properly so.

No has been banned for their convictions; they were banned for their dishonesty and incivility in promoting them.

People don’t always realize whose friends with who. Or what’s the score.

One reason newbies need people to help’em realize the ropes so they don’t get in everybody’s hair.

Despite what you think, those people are miniscule as a threat compared to the Islamic threat. It is like the Romans quibbling about the Byzantines, when the Huns and Vandals were at the door.

Incivility. Hmmm.

Is that sort of like telling someone, "Up yours, asswipe," when all they've done is lay out a case for their candidate?

I’ve already written the Thompson campaign insiders about somehow joining the team. That said, ANY candidate who is perceived as a “fighter” -—someone who will take on the Dems on SOME issues, if not all, will win going away, and that includes Rudy.

A couple a dozen opuses (opera) and bannings does not a trainwreck make.

heck, if all 50 Rudy fans here were to pack their bags, it would not make a dent in the usefulness of diversity of opinion found on FR.

Oh, and stay away from me. I don’t like you.

I don't like someone who tries to imply that JimRob waited to ban liberal Rudy boosters until after he had their money.

After all, several of them were loudly proclaiming that they wouldn't send any money during the freepathon anyway. Yet he didn't nuke them for that.
