We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?

I’m also for gay rights. I believe a person who is gay has the same rights as any other human being. They have the right to life, the right not to be aborted, the right to succeed or fail on their own.
They have the right to police protection, to own property, to own a gun, to free speech.
Rights are endowed by our creator, and belong to each person, regardless of their nature.
Can a gay person marry? Absolutely. Governor Greevey, a gay man, was married for quite some time. Can they have children? Sure, Greevey had a child. Can they have sex with whoever they want? Sure, Greevey had sex with his aide.
I’m straight. Can I marry a man? No. Against the law. A Gay man has the same rights as I do, he can’t marry a man, I can’t marry a man.
Equal rights.
What would you propose?
It seems to me that the owner of this site put us all on notice that he was tired of the status quo and wanted a return to a focus on conservative issues and some more integrity from its members. That is what this site is all about.
Since he posted his wishes I’ve seen a number of folks who have declared, through their words or their actions, that they don’t care what he wants. In turn he has helped them towards the door.
The easiest way for this thread to run its course would be for those who feel akin to the banished ones to take a break and stop posting to it. The thread would die. It is as simple as that, and yet they appear unwilling or unable to control themselves.
Once this thread runs it course, FreeRepublic will get back to business (more or less) as usual.
I agree with you - it is time to move on - or move out. I hope you make a wise decision.
Who does the legwork in each party to get their candidates elected - the squishy moderates or the “wingnuts” on each side?
If you can’t motivate the most “extreme” in either party to go out and campaign, you might as well call it a day early.

I don’t think anyone should have special rights either.
I don’t hate or fear gay people nor do I just plain don’t like gay people. I don’t like that a sexual perversion is becoming a norm. I don’t like that it’s called an alternative lifestyle when it should be called an abnormal lifestyle that is shoved down our throats daily and those of us who believe it’s not normal are considered “fearful” of it in some way. The whole homophobe homophobic thing - phobia means fear to me and I don’t them, I fear what what allowing to become considered normal, what we’re teaching our children about this lifestyle/perversion - it’s one exteme to the next like everything else. I don’t condone bashing or crimes against one for being different or shunning, etc. But I also don’t think it’s normal or right. I don’t understand “hate crimes” - I’m a white female so I guess that means a hate crime can’t be committed against me yet, but I’m Catholic and the MSM/liberals, continually offend me but I’m supposed to suck it up because of some strange reason. But, a gender crime can be committed against me (roll my eyes). The most hated, it seems, is the white males who aren’t girly girls. We went from one extreme to another and now our society continually discrimates against the white male, the big bad man, and that’s ok. Ticks me off.
