Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I don’t have to explain to you why I am on any thread, bucko.

***No, Howler, but I’m looking forward to a possible time where you might need to explain to JimRob why you’re such a jerk stirring up trouble on this thread and don’t answer the legitimate questions posted to you. That kind of behavior doesn’t forward conservatism so we wouldn’t lose much if you got banned. Try to add more value than just being a pasquinade.

Don’t bet on it, unless you openly admit the truth about Giuliani first and then say I don’t care, I’ll support him anyway. If you lie about his admitted positions or try to smear good conservatives in an attempt to justify your abortionist gun grabbing liberal, you WILL get the boot.

And those who can't bear the truth about Giuliani and can't understand why conservatives outright reject such a repulsive liberal, should get out of the kitchen now, because we've barely begun to fight. I'm making it my own personal goal to knock Giuliani out of the primaries, simply by revealing the stark ugly truth about him. Mostly with words out of his own filthy mouth.

Wow, I'm with ya. Got any ideas, and orders, I'm ready to work.

... and some of his supporters here have made wise cracks about the “religious zealot” Christians. They created the animosity.

Yeah! And especially considering that some 'religious zealots' who don't know the first friggin' thing about turning cheeks.

“Those who continue trying to push this socialist butcher off onto the rest of us are going to feel a whole LOT of pushing back. This I promise.”

Ooooohhhhh. Sounds like someone is getting a message....

“And those who can’t bear the truth about Giuliani and can’t understand why conservatives outright reject such a repulsive liberal, should get out of the kitchen now, because we’ve barely begun to fight.”

It looks like the heat’s gonna get cranked up a bit...yikes! ;^)

It annoys you when they won't go limp, roll over, and let you have your way? Get used to it. This is politics.

There's no whine like and atheist whine.

Perhaps...but if you hold you vote and allow a socialist like Clinton...or a whackjob like Gore...or a whatever the hell Kerry is... to win, then are you any less 'guilty'?

I'm a conservative. As such, 99% of the time I find myself voting Republican with a few exceptions, like Arlen Specter whom I refuse to support in any way.

I believe that nominating Giuliani as the Republican standard bearer will set the conservative movement back immeasurably and lead to the demise of the GOP. An endorsement of Giuliani's ideology will strip the Republican party of any claim to being the party of pro-lifers, second amendment supporters, constitutionalists, small government, fiscal restraint or traditional values.

Giuliani is the antithesis of everything I believe in. He is a big government, pro-abortion, pro-special rights for gays, anti-gun, country-club Republican with a disturbing authoritarian streak and a nonexistent personal morality.

While I believe a Giuliani nomination guarantees a GOP loss, if others who don't want to say I'm "guilty" by not supporting him so be it. I will not actively support the destruction of my own beliefs.

Humor is my friend. I know humor very well...and I know when your snarky posts don’t resemble humor at all. Don’t patronize me or pretend to know what JimRob will or will not do in the future. State your political case for what you believe, and spare me your brown-nosing prognosticating. Plenty of us are mature enough to sort through the BS.

I think that we are free to be civil and disagree with these people. They rarely respond with anything but one sentence statements and diatribes and insults.

If that sounds familiar, try engaging a liberal sometime. You can give them ten pages of facts and get back a single sentence insult or stereotype for your trouble.

In my case, I’ve gone from just posting and leaving and not answering charges and insults to actually standing for verbal battle. My son loves to argue. I don’t. But I’m developing a real taste for it. Rudy Giuliani may be the best thing to hit the GOP in a long time, because the danger of his nomination is making us fight. If you don't believe it, read the posts from our leader. Now there's a man I can follow into battle.

I don't think He's happy with those who place little important on it either.

I honestly don’t see where you’ve said anything that terrible. The one thing I would like to see my anti-Rudy allies do is not speculate on who belongs here and who doesn’t. That is not our affair.

Even Jesus only told us to turn our cheeks once. He never said to just keep turning it. Even He showed anger when he overturned the tables in the Temple. The modern day equivalent of “Turn the other cheek” has become “Fool me once, shame on yo!” Freepers will not accept the feeble attempts to portray Rudy Giuliani as a conservative. It just ain’t so.

The issue is truth FRiend. And the truth is that Rudy is a destructive lesion on the GOP. His abortion views, his authoritarian bent and corrupt nature together with his willingness to turn on those who support him all make him a danger. Rudy has a few positives and a terrible number of negatives. In charity, we need to expose him for who he is to protect ourselves and our posterity.
