Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Hi Melas... I think both you and Jim are correct. One difference does not a liberal make. I doubt that Jim or anyone here would say that Cheney is a liberal, even when he supports his gay daughter. But if someone like Rudy is liberal on several issues (gun control, abortion, gay issues, immigration), you just can’t call yourself conservative.

Would you agree with that?

Well, since Rudy is not the nominee yet (and I am praying and will work to make sure he isn't), we're hypothesizing anyway.

But if he is the ONLY person standing between the survival of this country and an EVIL MARXIST, I already know that my Christian, Conservative across the board conscience will vote for the opponent who can beat her.

At this point, I'm praying for, and will work for a conservative.

That won't ever happen.

Can you understand that people who admire and respect President Bush have solid conservative principles? Or you really that blind?

Wow, just cked this thread today, and real Freepers are being killed off? I wish I knew the secret, some FR haters post here continuously just to insult everyone, and never get banned!

I guess its best to stay on non-political threads, for fear of being banished to rehab, lol!

That’s the worst thing about rudybots, and how you can tell they’re on the losing side- almost no humor at all. Meanwhile the people fighting for conservative principles are usually having fun doing it. I guess having to constantly redefine and categorize “conservative” to fit a lifelong northeastern liberal can wear down any sense of humor they might once have had.

Boy, if that ain't the truth. Rooty isn't going to take that from me either!

As if I sought to impress. What for, and whom? Impressing could be useful when one is looking for a date in certain situations, or on job interviews. Neither applies. Being well-read is a pleasure in itself, and is a necessary part of becoming and being an educated person. Strongly recommended.
For example, reverting to that same Aristotle, I managed to surprise a medical student by telling him that Aristotle considered sexual excess as beneficial against the diseases caused by phlegm [Problemata, 1. 50]. It happened when that student came in with a running nose. Well, they did not teach this one to him - and a few days later he came and told me “it worked!”. I envision him later - as a licensed physician - solemnly dispensing the same advice to his future patients. Thus the torch is being transmitted.

I don’t understand the “wideawakes” site. You can’t find anything, a lot of names look just like names here, and some of the discussion looks just like here, with people making smart comments about the importance of guns in schools, for example.

I couldn’t figure out how to find the “most recent” posts to see if someone who might be a banned person was over there talking about it.

>>>>>I do not believe that the founders expected us to impose our particular religious view on others.

I never said that. I said the Founders created America and based the documents that govern her on Judeo-Christian laws. Laws that go back to the beginning of both the Jewish and Christian religions. Those are well accepted facts. People who don't accept them are outside the American mainstream.

You must be really loving this, Reagan Embarrassment. You’ve really ‘gotten over’ haven’t you? Suck-up and whine to JR you fifth columnist disruptors, perhaps you can get more members trimmed. Caveat emptor: Reagan Embarrassment is a liar and a phony, and is here to do nothing but cause division and discontent.

If you, as a conservative, help Hillary get into the White House, you will, in fact, be responsible for the demise of America.

I am shocked that you wrote that. It makes you a Republican loyalist to a fault. If you, as a born again Christian, pull the lever for a candidate who supports the most extreme forms of abortion and homosexual activism, you will be responsible before the Lord and will be no better than the opposition.

Our responsibility to God and our consciences must outweigh our loyalty to a political party or our hatred (holy or otherwise) toward another party.

Never mind, it couldn't be that the 2006 losses were due to a poor Republican campaign, and low voter turnout, it couldn't be that voters were turned off by the RINO wing for having no character,

Unfortunately the minority RINO wing is now the Conservatives.

Thats as much as anyone can ask for in this period before the primary. Go for a GOOD conservative candidate. Don’t settle for less out of fear!

“You were born too late. You should have been in political control in 1939.”

Are you insinuating the man is like Franklin Roosevelt or Adolf Hitler? This isn’t 1939. There are no storm troopers beating people in the streets. Get real. If I go over to DU and act obnoxious, I’m not going to be there long. Mr. Robinson let a lot of these people stay a long, long time.

I have never considered this place a peaceful sharing of ideas. I’ve fought and done verbal battle with the left wing freepers for years. This is about politics. Politics is ugly. It’s dirty. Always has been.

Whether Mr. Robinson keeps people or lets them go is his business and his decision. I’ve always thought Peach, Fair Opinion, and Quidnunc were very irritating. There are quite a few others I could name. Some people would say the same about me. I don’t care.

A while back, during the Bushbot wars, Mr. Robinson posted that he was tired of all the Bushbot talk and warned people. I have never heard a discouraging word. But it’s also his forum, and I took my anger at the president elsewhere for awhile. What’s so hard?
