Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Funny (strange) thing is, (IMO) this thread never even really got as bad as a lot of the Smoky Backroom stuff I’ve seen. The Creation/evolution threads got worse than this. Rumor has it the Terri threads were, too.

If some of the banned pushed a pro-abortion agenda, like *just sayin’* did, or pro-homosexual, like *Rex the Runt*, and they’re newbs, they’re obviously trolls and will get banned. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

And some virtually begged for it, either in actions or outright in words, and got their wish.

The real source of controversy seems to be over a few that were considered less than personable posters who had been here a long time. People who were attacked by them weren’t sad to see them go. Nothing out of the ordinary there either.

I just don’t understand why when the thread turned around towards reconciliation and healing and people wanting to let it go, some just didn’t want to.

Posts 17,033 and 16,958. There may be more, but I’m not sure.

I’ll have to try the PB one. Last time I tried PB cookies, they crumbled to bits and were oily. I don’t know what I did wrong.

I won’t lambast those who disagree with me either. Courteously debate them? Yea, sure, you betcha. ;)

I’m an optimist, and I choose to believe that Giuliani’s name will not be on the ballot when voting day arrives. As for third parties, “The highest percentage of the popular vote ever won by a Third Party was 27.4% by the Progressive Party candidate for President in 1912.” I could vote third party as a way of protesting, but by doing so I would also be helping the Democrats and hurting the Republicans, our military men and women, and our country’s security and future.

If the only solution to dealing with Rudy supporters on FR is to simply remove a large swath of them, what's the plan for dealing with them outside?

I don't think they thought that far .. they're too busy burning down the house

Very good post, Steel Wolf

Why couldn’t some have just left it well enough alone

Because I had / have some things to say. Curious, is your computer broken? Or is somebody holding you at gunpoint to read the thread?

Complaining about the content of THIS thread is about the lamest thing I have seen in a long time.

This has always been about conservatism versus liberalism. You have now posted your decision once again and displayed your arrogance once again. You will vote for Rudy if he is the GOP nominee and you will continue to denounce conservatives who choose to vote for a 3rd party candidate, a write-in candidate, or whether they choose to stay home or leave the ballot blank.

I told you this before. In doing so you are denouncing over 70% of ALL FReepers with comments like that one. You are offering up more credence to Rudy Giuliani's candidacy, as you trash conservatives. You remain opposed to the ultimate goals and objectives of this forum.

Your ignorance shows no bounds. Wouldn't be surprised to find out you're geting marching orders from MadIvan and Howlin over at that new anti-Free Republic website, Wideawakes. Right, #205?! LOL

Wait till you try my authentic Scottish shortbread. Then if you jigger the recipe just a little and substitute malted milk powder (which is mostly flour anyway) for a cup of the regular flour, ooh, they are wonderfully malty, sweeter, and ready to melt in your mouth.

Shocking that all that sugar and spice didn’t lighten up the tone on the thread.
