We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
Yes it does.
You might want to visit some of the rudy threads to see how vicious and unreasonable the rudybots were. Type in the keyword “giuliani”. Drawing your conclusion from this thread is like sittin’ on one side of a battlefield and seeing only one group getting smoked by another.
THOMPSON: Pro-life.
WALLACE: Do you want to overturn Roe vs. Wade?
THOMPSON: I think Roe vs. Wade was bad law and bad medical science. And the way to address that is through good judges. I don't think the court ought to wake up one day and make new social policy for the country. It's contrary to what it's been the past 200 years. We have a process in this country to do that. Judges shouldn't be doing that. That's what happened in that case. I think it was wrong.
You said there is "a ton of questions about his abortion position..." What is the problem? What is the "ton of questions about Fred and his abortion position"?
Does he believe that the right to life of the innocent [those unconvicted of a capital crime] is unalienable from conception to natural death? Thats the biggie. There are others.
Thompson said Roe v. Wade was bad law. That means the questions you raise would be decided by state and local laws. The protection of the unborn from extermination would be protected by state and local laws.
That's how it was done throuh out the history of this country up until Roe v. Wade. States passed laws against abortionists -- abortionists were throw in jail.
The federal government fails to best protect life.
Now, what's the problem?
Yeah. They're the words of a man that, more than any other individual I know of, represents what I believe - passionately, powerfully, and courageously. That bothers you?
I missed his announcement that he's running again or is this simply a fund raising drive?
I've not heard that he has announced anything. But I think he should enter this race. The lack of his voice in this campaign has already produced a huge void. The pap coming out of this field of candidates is appallingly bland.
Howlin stopped posting temporarily while she was running an anti-freeper chat group she started at yahoo. Afterwards, she came back, and sucked up to some of the people she had trashed at the other site. I bet she expected to be able to do the same thing this time. But there was a big difference. The yahoo group remained unknown for several months, and then only got minimal exposure. This time, everybody knows.
It doesn’t appear she has an ounce of respect for this site, its owner, or the members. I suspect a lot of people who left here to go over there are going to find out what a back stabbing harpy she is, as soon as she’s done using them.
Cool. Tend to pick my quotes for content. Attribute them, cause I think that’s right too...
Now, what were the "tons of questions about...other important things", concerning Fred?
Not at all. Given your previous affiliation with him I'd expect nothing less. I'm just curious on whether he's actually going to run or if you're campaigning for him out of habit.
And there we have the basic problem before the house. Expecting people to violate basic and non-negotiable principles is simply asking too much.
I held my nose when I voted for both Bushes, both times. But, I COULD do that.
Rudy. No way. None. Zilch. Nada.
” someone claiming to be the owner calling someone “asswipe” it became totally clear what this place has turned into.”
Claiming? You Gulag Darwin conspiracy nut.
...and you liberals and friends defending liberals are asswipes, since you brought it up.
Crist is a Republicant. He's in Mitt's crowd. Crist is Mitt's ditz.
You're obtuse and out of your league, IMO. I'm a lot of things...but rude isn't one of them.
The Religious Right doesn't own the Republican Party any more than the anti-war crowd owns the Democrats.
Loudest and shrillest doesn't translate to strongest.
More of us than there are moonbats.
If Keyes doesn't announce, who would you recommend we support in the primary?
It’s not just social issues that Hunter is about. He stands for all conservative principles, yes, even spending. Now, he or I would never dispute the fact that Duncan Hunter wants to spend all it takes to build a solid, effective Military and defense of this country. And he’s a zealot about it. Some say that ‘proves’ he ‘close’ to defense contractors. Well, DUH!
He doesn’t accept gifts from them according to Opensecrets and any other source I’ve ever found. And they’ve all contributed a lot more to George Bush than they ever did to Duncan Hunter. When Hunter’s constituents have a question about something going on in DC, he goes home, sets up a meeting with THEM! Imagine! A president who gives a rip about the people of this country......Imagine that.
——off soapbox, thanks——
“The Religious Right doesn’t own the Republican Party any more than the anti-war crowd owns the Democrats.”
Wow, is that what you mainstram GOP guys think of the RR? Comparing them to those anti-war pacifist anarchists and communists? Pretty incendinary.
including a long time member that stated that all those years he was trying to undermine FR, and that it was his sole goal here.
***Perhaps you could post his screenname so that we can all reference it the next time someone comes to his defense. I had often suspected that was the case with a few freepers but I didn’t think they would openly admit it, ever.
