I think Imus should have apologized to the girl's team nationally because he insulted the team nationally. Beyond that, I would not have accepted his apology if I were a member of the team. Neither would I give him another thought. Nor would I afford Sharpton or Jesse Jackson the platform to use me and my team to advance their socialist, RAT, agendas. The little bit of Rush I heard today was a woman caller who essentially said that Blacks don't wilt because somebody says something mean about them and she was sick and tired of being portrayed that way. You don't empower others by playing the role they cast for you. Imus and his current defender Howard Stern are cut from the same cloth of making a living demeaning others and if that wasn't bad enough, neither is real smart to begin with. Mean and stupid with national microphones. I hope those Republicans who have thought they gained something from being on the Imus show may now open their eyes to what many of us see and stop giving him credence.

While Imus’ comments were mean, the reaction is frankly way over the top.

This is leading the evening news, for crying out loud.

“Nappy-headed hos” is EXTREMELY MILD compared to what you hear every single day in some cities and parts of the country.

When I saw the lead on the NBC news I headed for FR to see what was happening. Did this show up on CBS and ABC for god’s sake.

As I keep saying, if you look at the whole show, this was meant to say how tough the women were—not to degrade them.

I find it interesting that, after reading 599 responses to this post and listening to countless people wetting their knickers over Imus’ racist remarks, no one has noted that two of the girls on the team were white. I just finished watching the CBS evening news where Katie Couric, a true ho, was falling all over herself on the race issue; they kept showing the white players but all the talk was about the struggle of black women. Did the white girls not contribute to the team, or what?
And I didn’t see one girl on the team, of any color, who had nappy hair. Imus needs to just go away.
