WILLIAMS ANNOUNCING ON NBC, TWO WEEKS SUSPENSION
Exactly!
Imus attacked David Horse-Face Gregory? How did I miss that?
Give them time.
Which is why we and they had better get our act together or they will hold congress and the White House. You can do nothing to please the libs short of suicide.
Yes, Rosie is a racist - but ABC has no problem with that because they won’t see Chinese burning down the studio.
i guess IMUS needs to write a book on “WHAT IF..I CALLED THEM NAPPY HEADED HO’S, then he could ride down L.A. in a white bronco, go to court and get off on tech’s, this is rediculous if it had been an “african american” it would have been funny as H???.
White guys don’t get to talk about bitches, hoes, and sluts. It’s good for everybody else, though.
The left won’t be happy until Imus kills himself.
Suggested to Gregory that he was the cause of their failing ratings. Gregory tried to say that their ratings were fine. Hah, Imus really went after him. Didn’t let Gregory lie about the ratings.
Kind of surprising and I have to wonder what that was all about. Unless someone from on high used Imus to send Gregory a lesson.
Rather than a lesson Gregory needs a horsewhipping.
Meant to say......send Gregory a MESSAGE
He only said what rappers say all the time, he needs to repeat it with a rapper band - he’ll sell millions.
Rappers aren’t talking about specific student athletes who attend a prestigious university, get high grades, have bright futures, and win a national champiionship. Rappers are talking about un-named, faceless girls wandering around the ‘hood.
I have an issue with Al and Jesse also and I hate the fact that when certain racial situations occur, they are the first ones all over the place. Jesse and Al have no place in this situation.
But the reason I responded to you because you wrote that the Rutgers team coming out is overkill. It sounds like you were feel the folks who are involved in this situation should deal with it and not use their free speech to respond on the situation on a national scale (Didn’t Imus get a national scale for his free speech). They are the ones who were the subject of the attacks, so why would it be considered overkill for them to respond. The Rutgers basketball team and their coach are the only responses that I care about and want to hear.
You seem to be skirting around the whole issue of the Rutgers woman’s team responding back on a national stage. I never said I disagreed with you on Al, Jesse, or any other person. It is very ironic that you support Imus right to free speech, but you also say the Rutgers team responding is overkill. This is the first time they have responded to this on a national scale. The coach and team didn’t come back with insults, but showed class something Imus lacks. Shouldn’t they be given a national stage just like Imus to speak, since they were the subject of the attacks.
I am not saying Imus doesn’t have a right to free speech. But he is doing it on another’s medium. Just like he has the right to free speech, MSNBC as his employer has the right not to tolerate this type of speech. Just because he has the right to free speech doesn’t give him the right to be free of the consequences that comes with his speech if he is doing it on his employers medium. You already know when you work for someone else you play by their rules.
For instance, I can curse out my boss everytime I see him at work. I have the right to say what I want to say to him, but I am can’t expect to be immune from the consequences that comes from my free speech.
I don’t like Rosie either, but that is up to ABC and the View on how they deal with Rosie. In spite of all the stupid thing that comes out of her mouth, ABC and the View continue to give her the national stage to talk.
Well you saved me the time of having to respond. Good job.
Since it was directed at a Republican I guess THAT is OK.
If Al had made similary comments about a white team we would have never heard a word in the press about this.. so unless people are willing to hold press conferences every time Al or Jesse make a stupid comment about WHITE people I don't want to hear it. I'm tired of everything applying one direction only....
Obviously you didn’t read the other thread where I posted about this. My biggest issue is the fact that they are a bunch of college students, not elected officials or professional athletes. I even stated that I don’t care what color they are. Like I said before it is very ironic that you support Imus right to free speech, but at the same time think that the Rutgers women basketball team speaking out is overkill. Just like people feel Imus had a right to free speech on a national stage, the basketball team had the same right. Unlike Imus the media wanted to hear their reponse to an attack against them. I think it is just too crazy that you feel the basketball should just shut up and deal with, but no not Imus he has a right to free speech.

Thank you. I just think it is ironic that she feels Imus has a right to free speech on a national stage, but Heaven forbid the basketball team who was insulted use their right of free speech to respond on a national stage. It is just overkill for the subjects of the insults to respond at all to the situation, even if this is their first time speaking on the matter.
