Look how Ann Coulter was treated for using the f - - - - - word - plus her joke was, “I would call John Edwars a f _______ except I would be sent to sensitivity camp”. She was skewered for that. Unfairly, I think.

I just asked the exact same question.

If this woman’s speech goes on for another second, my head’s going to explode.

This is out of control; and — just my opinion — but it’s going to turn a lot of people off; if they take Imus off, a lot of people are going to be mad — and they’re going to remember why.

I certainly wouldn’t want to listen he had to say. I hope this turkey loses his job, he’s been getting away with this crap for years. Many have been fired for a lot less.

Ridiculous. Imus losing his job would not do one thing to improve or upgrade the level of discourse, respect and morality in this country. His apology might be phony as you suggest, so is the outrage that concludes firing is the appropriate response. Turn him off...I did years ago.

The coach is giving one hell of a speech right now.

Don’t you think this will only add to the division between blacks and whites?

I’d be a little more sympathetic if I didn’t think her girls had iPods with trash talking on them — and they haven’t held a press conference about that.

"So what are they going to run? Best of Imus?"

most amusing comment on this thread. The "Best Of Imus" would be like compounding the offense. There'd be twenty other minorities (broadly speaking) taking notice that they'd been "disrespected".
Imus has merely been participating in the prevailing culture. It's some rough "kidding" is all and he's been doing it on MSNBC for ten years. What I'm enjoying about all this is watching the left eat one of their own, but I hesitate labeling Imus politically. He's naieve, courting all these MSM / Newsweek, NYTimes celebrities and taking them seriously. On the other hand he's a shameless conman, with that stupid "ranch" of his open two months a year (to put kids with cancer to work??) and hawking his wife's book recently.

Precisely.

I personally like Imus; he wakes up grumpy like me, but if you don’t like him, turn him off.

I suppose they haven’t seen the rapper show where he’s hiring back up singer, huh? Talk about degrading black women.

But what will MSNBC do, go off the air; he is their ONLY show that gets ratings.

For Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to pass judgment on anyone after what they’ve done to people in the past is outrageous. This is simply about a power trip to them. Maybe, just maybe, someday what goes around will come around.

That's what makes this whole thing so absurd. Imus has always come across as so tough, so rigid, so set in his ways. He's the last person in the world I'd have ever thought would kow-tow to the likes of Sharpton and Jackson. As for apologizing...rightfully so, he should have apologized to the Rutgers women's team and their families, but beyond that...he owes the racebaiters absolutely nothing!

I'd have never thought Imus of all people would go down this PC road...appearing on Sharpton's radio show????? [My initial thought upon learning Sharpton even had a show was: "Who knew!"] I agree with all the other comments about...blood in the water...the sharks are circling now.

Back the anger train up!

I didn't say that he was to meet them. He owes them an apology. Either they receive it or they do not.

I think you need to go back and reread my posts... you and I are in agreement.

Heh.

Oh, they are going to have a “private” meeting with Imus; somehow I doubt it will be private; I suspect Jesse will be there.
