We came thru Missoula in 1960 and I fell in love with it immediately. Always wished I could move there. Someone told me "there are two seasons in Montana--winter and July!"
My then-husband went to the barber shop for a haircut and was very impressed when a fellow came in and asked the barber if he could go hunting. Barber said Soon as I finish this guy. My husband was mighty impressed! Sounded like the ideal life.
We stayed in Great Falls overnight on our way to Alaska in our motorhome in 1995, saw Lewis & Clark sign outside the campground. Visited Great Falls, took a boat trip around Flathead Lake in 1995 on our way to Alaska, stopped in Glacier Park--Montana is indeed very beautiful.
Some friends from church retired out there, built a home in Missoula and absolutely love it. The wife said "If you die first, I'm going back to Newtown." Her husband said "If you die first, I'm staying here--I'm already in Heaven"! Great line!
Loved the youtube video. The lady with the bullhorn was terrific!!!! The moonbats couldn't deal with her - finally just turned away from her....they could not defeat her truth!
Did you notice the sign on the You Tube video that read, "The world would be better off if you father had pulled out before the job was done,"?
LOL - no I missed that one - gotta go back and look....:-)
Amen..Been tearing up..What a great Gathering!
This is just terrific..God bless them all!! What a Gathering!
"We came thru Missoula in 1960 and I fell in love with it immediately. Always wished I could move there. Someone told me "there are two seasons in Montana--winter and July!""
It's ALL true...!!!
[except that there are two seasons in Montana....Winter and "Road Under Destruction"....hee hee]
I've been here for 12 years...reminds me of what Colorado...where I lived for 28 years....USED TO BE like.
And, in all the places I've been, THIS place has the highest per capita serving of GOOD people bar none...!!!
From CBS
Police no longer give official estimates but said privately that perhaps 10,000 to 20,000 anti-war demonstrators marched, with a smaller but still sizable number of counterprotesters also out in force. An hour into the three-hour Pentagon rally, with the temperature near freezing, protesters had peeled away to a point where fewer than 1,000 were left.
GREAT sign!!! So TRUE.
bttt
I have not had the news on much yesterday and today but what I heard seemed to "feature" the anti war protesters..No surprise there. Pictures don't lie..The Gathering was spread out all across the area to protect and it was awesome to see these photos and read the reports.
THANK YOU to all who attended.
Hugs, Meg. I saved one of the photos to my profile page .... talk about tearing up.
:^)
The NPR piece is the hand of the Clinton campaign at work. Recall that earlier in the week Hillary gace a speech that was far from being anti war.
The beast has determined she must seek the middle ground Her minions at NPR are following her direct order.
I was very moved by your impression of yesterday's events and was absolutely flabbergasted to read you are only 19! Young man, you have acquired more wisdom in your 19 years than, I would even be afraid to guess, a good many adults in this country. Beginning with the protesters yesterday. To say nothing of your ability to express yourself extremely well, your kindness of spirit and your appreciation for life. I would say you are an Honorary Yank! (But much better educated than many, many, many!) :)
Unfortunately.
I would be proud to have you for a son; in fact, in reading your Home Page, find my 2 sons, (both Freepers)have interests very similar to yours. I'm sure your parents are very proud of you. I know your comments are appreciated by everyone reading here and I look forward to reading future comments and posts. Hopefully you will be a Government leader someday; you certainly have the talent.
As an admirer of Ronald Reagan you will greatly enjoy a new biography of his life which I am reading, "The Crusader". A winner. Given to me, incidentally, by one of my sons. It is just fantastic, begins with his early life, and a real eye-opener.

I hit the back button too soon--not sure if this posted. Hope it's not a duplicate!
THANKS FOR THE UPDATE
"DISHONORABLE MENTION" GOES TO.....

"Crossing the bridge toward the Pentagon, the marchers met another group of about 50 counterdemonstrators by the Arlington Cemetery, one holding a sign that said: Go to hell traitors. You dishonor our dead on hallowed ground."
If you look at the original map of our designated permit areas, there is one across the bridge, on the other side of the river from the Lincoln Memorial. The sentence in question seems to refer to this area on the Arlington Cemetery side of the river.
To me, this means we collectively occupied all the designated ground. These guys crossed the river to provide harassment to the Moonbats.
I had planned to attend the Gathering of Eagles, but on MOnday evening I was admitted into the hospital and had to undergo an emergency gall bladder operation. Just got out of the hospital on Thursday night and travel was out of the question.
Well done for all who participated.
LOL...so useless they are!
