Great assessment, I concur. I've been to several of these events merely as an interested citizen who happens to live nearby. They began in 1999 or 2000 and were regarding WTO policy, environment issues, general theatre, anarchy, etc.
All of this has morphed into the anti-war/hate Bush nonsense we see today. This is the first time I've attended with the definite awareness that I was not completely outnumbered. I actually saw TWO veterans on the Metro into DC, and NO hoodlums. This NEVER happens.
It would be great to complete the turn in an educational sense, where the majority of the population is re-introduced to the logic that this is NOT President Bush's war, but the BATTLE for IRAQ in the War on Terror by the 5th anniversary in March 2008. Perhaps it will also help what appears to be positive momentum on the ground in Baghdad.
These 'anti-war' folks seem determined for a constant War on Freedom, so we must continue to stand up and fight as the 'Silent Majority'. Islamic fascists are quite bent on a caliphate, we must not falter.

I hope so. To see the Viet Nam Vets standing up for the next generation, though no one stood up for them, was a truly moving experience. No one should let the valor, faith, honor, and humility of those men go unanswered.
This should be more than a tipping point, it should generate a tsunami of support for those who served then and those who serve now. I hope the defenders of the republic stand up and scatter the appeasers, anarchists, and socialists.
The irony for us is that it was just fine here, and it was just fine in DC, but we couldn't get from here to there.
Our massive poster, heavy coats, hats and buttons with our son's picture on them were on the table ready to go, and our bags packed.
Sad day for us.
btw, what part of Ohio did you live in? Some parts are REALLY snowy........others not so bad.
We get there in about six and a half hours from here if we go north to go south. It's weird, but it's true.
The media will begin to pay attention IF the "right" side continues to turn out in big numbers. Currently, they probably get some emails, phone calls.....same with Senators....emails, calls, but they ignore these thinking they can cause it's just a 'few' making noise. IF, they begin to "SEE" that volumes of people who love America, her military and her President are literlly standing up...and are willing to 'take to the streets' they'll pay attention.
We must also put in conservative JUDGES!
I would concur that today was offensive. I was thinking as an overall effort. It will take some time to regain the ground we've lost. I hope you are right about today being the tipping point. Time will tell.
Agreed. Emails and other contact is good. We must consistently put "boots on the ground" in order to get the coverage.

It was a privilege, and very humbling to see (and be able to thank!) so many veterans. I cried more than once, thank goodness for sunglasses. Let's hope the MSM is waking from their slumber. It must happen or they'll be out of business.
I got an email saying that we had about 9,000 - because the area GOE was - the largest group - it could hold 10,000 and I was told it was almost full.
The msg also said that they had about 3,000 until about 2:30 when bus loads of people showed up and they swelled to about 8,000.
Who knows the real answer .. but I'd like to have the numbers to show the ANTI-AMERICANS that the AMERICANS outnumbered them.

This is one St. Patrick's Day everyone will remember! St. Patrick may have driven the snakes out of Ireland, but the Gathering of Eagles drove them out of Washington D.C.!
I didn't notice his stupid hair the first time I saw this photo. Does he think he's a bank robber or something? Maybe he had to wear that bandanna across his nose because his buddies haven't bathed since last summer!
I was there and stood behind some vets who didn't mince words with the other side. One of those vets looked the young people in the eyes and yelled "shame on you." Then the next and the next. The young ones looked shocked to see so many with a different opinion. So proud to stand with the vets. They were everywhere and they were awesome.
