That settles it. When the troop comes by, this not-overweight American will be buying three times the amount I usually buy.

If people don't want to gain weight they should eat in moderation (don't eat all the damn cookies in one sitting) and be physically active.
Now; if they were selling "Girl Scout Thongs" the left would praise them for their progressive empowerment.
So gimme my thin mints!

I would rather die happy but unhealthy than die healthy but unhappy! I love their cookies, but they are not very filling and very expensive for what you end up getting.

Well I actually agree with the premise of this article. I think it is utterly irresponsible for the Girl Scouts to be pushing this crap on America to raise money.
I think the Girl Scouts of America would do better to sell something more wholesome like raisins, nuts or olive oil. All those products have long shelf life which is conducive for long-term fundraising. As well, they are packed with nutrition and free of hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrups.

NAAO suggests Girl Scouts look to Boy Scouts as a model -- they're known for community service, unlike Girl Scouts singularly identified with baked goods. "Do your good deed -- while Girl Scout Cookies are on sale through March, smile at the children, offer a donation, but leave those cookies behind."
Fine, she can put her money where her mouth is - I have 15 cases ($42 per case) of Girl Scout cookies in my living room right now. Pay me for them and I will be more than happy to do what ever she wants me to do with them.....including.......never mind........

Here is a related story:

LA Weight Loss vs Girl Scouts of America
14th November 2006
Seems like the Girls Scouts in Raritan, New Jersey have offended clients of a LA Weight Loss center near their cookie booth.
Kara L. Richardson, Courier News:
Dorothy DiNorcia of Raritan Borough was renting a movie in Blockbuster when she said she heard a clerk there tell his manager, I have LA Weight Loss on the phone. They are threatening to call the police if we dont get them (the Girl Scouts) to move from in front of our store.
Perhaps instead of threatening children LA Weight Loss could have used this as a learning opportunity in restraint and moderation.
Personally, my favorite Girl Scout cookies are the Tagalongs. Trefoils being a close second. Yum! Hard as it may be I think we ALL know that downing a box in one sitting is never conducive to losing weight

"Girl Scout Cookies are high-calorie, high-sugar, high in saturated fat and nearly devoid of nutrition.
I could say that this story is a fake based on the fact that anything that's high calorie, high sugar, high fat is nutritionally dense, not devoid of nutrition, but these kinds of people say stuff like this all the time.
What makes me think this is fake is that they hold up the Boy Scouts as a good example. Food wackos, in the mode of Center for Science in the Public Interest types, are usually politically left and, therefore, would be against the Boy Scouts.
