The White House yesterday embraced a new international report faulting humans for global warming, marking the furthest President Bush has gone in placing blame.
But administration officials again rejected the Kyoto-style caps on carbon emissions that have been the preferred solution of European nations.
The report, released in Paris by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said the fact that the Earth is now warming "is unequivocal," and said it is "very likely" that human activity is responsible for many of the changes.
"Human activity is contributing to changes in our Earth's climate, and that issue is no longer up for debate," said Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman, who took great pains in a press conference yesterday to point out that U.S. research money and science was critical to producing the report.

"But administration officials again rejected the Kyoto-style caps on carbon emissions that have been the preferred solution of European nations."
Yes, and they again rejected "amnesty" for illegals.
Something's up, first the SOTU, now this. I fear Bush will lead us into cap and trade scam by another name.
Correlation is not causation.
Atmospheric CO2 is a function of global temperatures, not a cause, unless you believe atmospheric CO2 causes sunspots, aka solar activity.
Global warming is caused by increased solar activity.
Global cooling is caused by decreased solar activity.
When global temperatures increase, atmospheric CO2 increases because the partial pressure of CO2 increases and its solubility in the oceanic CO2 sink decreases.
When global temperatures dd\ecrease, atmospheric CO2 decreases because the partial pressure of CO2 decreases and its solubility in the oceanic CO2 sink increases.
Can't wait to hear what the Bush bots have to say about this one. Most likely, it will be something along the lines of , "if you don't believe that we are causing global warming, then you are a RINO and are just following DNC talking points..."
(oh, wait, it was Al Gore - not Dan Quayle - who came out with An Inconvenient Truth...hmmm...does that complicate things? nahhh).
Typical left-wing climate whore. If he had said otherwise, this guy would be looking for a new source of funding.
"It's still below zero here."
***
And wind chills in the minuses here.
I could use some global warming right about now.
Ptooey!
Well, I'm a bush-bot, and my first reaction is WTF?
Where is that in this report that President Bush personally said that he accepts global warming is caused by humans?
Typical left-wing climate whore."
Thank goodness, that was some Euro-weenie socialist who said that....
Oh, wait...that's a BUSH Appointee!?!
Damn, is that rock-ribbed conservative GWB going wobbly on us now?
(sarcasm)
Great, Bush caves on another issue. The only thing left for him to do would be to cut and run from Iraq and we can officially start calling him Ted Kennedy.
This is enormously disturbing.
The title of this article is a huge distortion but it does not surprise me coming from the Washington Times who is becoming more anti-Bush in every passing hour.
Al Gore accepted Global Warming as his personal savior.
I'm not kidding, it's a friggin' religion...
bttt
NOt with a bang but a whimper would be a good way th characterize the deflation of this overblown crisis. I'll support measures that benefit us otherwise. for instance, I see economic and national security benefits to alternate energy. Natural C02 mitigation by planting trees or feeding the southern ocean also have beneficial effects. Carbon trading sound like a scheme invented by
Enron, to me.
So even though the scientific method has not been employed, y'all have to shut up now.

Well, I'm a bush-bot, and my first reaction is WTF?"
You are a good sport to admit to being a bush bot. I am not sure what your WTF is referring to here...surely you aren't surprised that the administration has taken this leftwards lurch?
Well, looks like hell will be freezing over soon.
What science? The actual study won't be released until May. We only have the word of UN bureaucrats as to what it says.
