Breaking on Fox News. Giuliani Files Statement of Candidacy for President
No article yet.
LOL. They have been and continue to be, ahh, COMBATIVE haven't they.
(p.s. FR is getting slower and slower this morning. Hope it doesn't do a repeat of yesterday's Super Bowl crash.)
Ummm, open-minded thoughtful statements have no place in a Rudy thread.
You have two choices: Either shove Hillary in our faces and shout "Boo!", or post a picture of Rudy in a dress.
Consider yourself warned.
Makes sense to me. Unfortunately, many of our FRiends would rather see the country handed over to the socialists so they can hide out in their shelters eating MREs and say, "I told you so," rather than vote for someone (doesn't have to be Guiliani) who doesn't see the world they way they do.
I want to win. I don't want Hitlary in office. I don't want a Dim Congress. I don't get that by staying home on election day or by voting Libertarian or some other party.
Ditto what you said. Although I'm not so sure the Pubbies aren't moving to the left and leaving us conservatives out to dry. The elation of so many that a lib like Rudy is running reaffirms my fears.
Hildabeast will crush Rudy in NYS. Period, end of story.
I don't think so.
I don't believe she would at all.
Plenty of examples. Here is the one I like where he says he sees little difference between Roberts and RBG.

He also takes lots of stances contrary to the 1st, 2nd, 4th amendments among others. If he thinks that's ok.....
Kinda like this Keyester fringer...
Doesn't matter how I vote. If the Republican Party goes with a gun grabbing, abortionist, gay rights, NARAL supporting LIBERAL they're gonna lose the conservative red states. And McCain(e) the turncoat backstabber would be a huge gamble. Way too many negatives burned bridges.

All of you who talk about running on the Platform, are missing a big part of the puzzle. I have been trying to be nice but the platforms for both major parties are to throw bones to various groups and then leave the convention happy as everyone got the piece of the pie. Have sat on platform committees at various levels.
After the conventions be it county, state, or national candidates don't run on the platform. They cannot afford to in the general election because platforms are usually more far left or right then a candidate wants to run so they run to the middle to get the votes of the middle of America who BTW have the final say. Run too far right or left and you cannot win in the general. Fact of life that has been known for years by candidates. In our case as Republicans, candidates run to the right in the primary and to the center in the general.
Personally I would like to have a candidate who doesn't pander to me if they don't share my belief 100% because then I know where they stand and I have more respect for them. If I agree with a candidate 80% of the time I feel happy. Some candidates I agree with their stance more and don't like them for various reasons -- ethics being #1 but they mouth the right words or vote the right way while at the same time they are not ethical at all. I will take the 80% over that candidate that panders any day of the week and is unethical.
"Interesting. I'm looking forward to this primary season. It seems that the GOP will field a diverse group of candidates, which will likely help the party in the long run. My suspicion is that Rudy will be more liberal than I'd like, but on the other hand we could use a strong and persuasive person in the White House.
I plan to let this primary play out before I criticize or support a candidate."
I am also looking forward to the primary. I will not vote for McCain and hope he does not win the nomination! I also hope that Duncan Hunter gets to be more known. It is really early and lots can happen! In the end, I would support Rudy if he wins the nomination....even if I don't vote for him in the primary.
As a 'Pubbie or as a Democrat?
The more I read by Ron Paul, the more I like him. The one thing that I think could cause you issue with him is that he voted against the war in Iraq. His reasoning was basically: "Why bother if we don't protect our own borders?". I'm not sure about Huckabee. There were a couple of things that made me doubt him. One was a pardon(or similar) for some criminals that, I believe, went and committed more crimes. I don't believe you would have a problem with Tancredo or Hunter.
Sounds familiar. My husband is of Sicilian descent. I'm mostly Scottish/Norwegian.... which of course means they have volatile tempers and wave their arms around a lot (just kidding).
Right you are, my friend....sad, actually.
That's early. I thought it was in March?
LOL! Just don'tget in our way when we talk you might get smacked by accident! LOL
What if he takes NY and FLA for the pubs. We would not need OH anymore.
