It's because the Super Bowl is taking place in February ... which is "Black History Month" ... and because both Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith are Black -- oops, African-American.

No, you had it right the first time. The whole "African American" thing was a concoction of the "Reverenda Thacksuuunnn" when he ran for president in 1984. I am an American male conservative Republican who happened to be born "black".

I wondered how many times I'd be taking a drink every time I heard the reference. I probably won't be blitzed because I started counting the references after the 20 hour pregame show ended.
