Since it now seems very imminent, I decided that it was an appropriate time to start this up. Links to information and pictures (if we get them) can be posted here.
I thought that technically Saddamn was in Iraqi custody and that we were, in essence, just babysitting the SOB for them?
Gallows Humor Doink.
Saddam would be carried out Saturday at dawn, according to one of her lawyers
AMMAN - One of defense counsels of Saddam Hussein affirmed Friday with AFP from Amman that, according to information's of which it laid out, the deposed president would be carried out "Saturday at dawn".
"According to information's in our Saddam Hussein possession would be carried out Saturday at dawn", indicated this lawyer under cover of anonymity.
It stressed that the lawyers had received "information of Iraq" which made "state of preparations for the execution tomorrow (Saturday) at dawn".
"the bracket is ready, according to our sources, it was assembled", it added.
Another lawyer, Me Issam Ghazaoui, had affirmed before with AFP that the American authorities had sent an electronic message to him cancelling the meeting of Saddam Hussein with her lawyers, envisaged Saturday.
"the American person in charge affirms moreover that, even if we come, we will not see Saddam Hussein bus +il is not any more at nous+", to Me Ghazaoui had added.
"We received an electronic message (courriel, note) of the American authorities informing us that president Saddam Hussein had been given to the Iraqi authorities", had on its side declared the lawyer Khalil Doulaïmi, person in charge for the committee of defense of the former dictator.
In Baghdad, an American person in charge having required anonymity however affirmed that Saddam Hussein was always under the physical control of the American army and had not been given to the Iraqi authorities.
Saddam Hussein, her half-brother Barzan Al-Tikriti, former chief of the services of information, and the former president of the revolutionary tribunal Awad Al-Bandar were condemned to died by hanging on November 5 for the execution of 148 villagers Shiites of Doujail (northern of Baghdad), in the years 1980, in reprisals with an attack against the presidential convoy.
The call of the former president was rejected Tuesday by the Iraqi justice, which specified that Saddam Hussein and its two lieutenants were to be hung under 30 days.
Well, the big question is, once Saddam goes, if Castro goes soon after, who would be most likely to be the 3rd murderous dicator to die, since deaths occur in threes??
CNN's already started the pity party.
Your sarcasm is unwarranted and hardly appropriate. I've repeated what I'm watching... same as everyone else. Perhaps you should take your childish self elsewhere.
LMAO! I just practiced my ululating, and scared the crap outta da cats !!!!!!
"Custody" may be just a paper shift, not physical. The players are all in place and will remain. It is unlikely that the US would just take back the shakles and walk away. THe US and Iraqi leaders will not compromise security until this job is done.
I think we should vote on this--we can use hanging chads.
Priceless!
>FOX confirmed SWaddam (sic) was in Iraqi custody....now they claim he isn't....<
Seems as though FOX has a touch of John Skerryosis!
Wait 20 minutes after the announcement of his demise then roll up the Mahdi Army, all their ammo will be gone from firing in the air.
Yes ...no Yes ...no....I think I'll take a nap.
That is the manner I've taken when around ultra-lib family members. When I had to listen to inane spoutings-off about how Pres. Bush was the worst pres in history because he would not see "Brokeback Mountain" (yes, this was a real concern to them), I just sat back silently with a smile. Of course, I was steaming mad on the inside, but never let it show.
Neat! Thanks for the ping, Alouette. I've never been to a hangin' before.
