Most people haven't said anything about this except to comment on how annoying Colmes is. (By the way, you are remarkably like Colmes.)

This is a decision of the Iraqi government. The US even suggested that perhaps (in deference to the UK and EU anti-death penalty position) that the Iraqis consider a life sentence without parole. They refused absolutely.

So take it up with the Iraqis.

I can only hope the President and his Administration realizes the great opportunity they have with Saddam's hanging.

Rather than gloat in satisfaction they can extend a token or an offering of good intentions to the Arab world. The simplest first step is to condemn again in the strongest terms the Israeli plan to begin new "settlements" on the West Bank.

It has to be clear to all concerned that we are not in this effort to provide Israel or anyone else with the opportunity of territorial conquest and "settlement."
