A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
A local business was looking for office help. They put a sign in the window, stating the following: "HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer."
A short time afterwards, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined.
Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised, to say the least. However, the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager.
The manager said, "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type." The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair. The manager was stunned, but then told the dog, "The sign says you have to be good with a computer."
The dog jumped down again and went to the computer. The dog proceeded to demonstrate his expertise with various programs and produced a sample spreadsheet and database and presented them to the manager. By this time the manager was totally dumb-founded! He looked at the dog and said, "I realize that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I still can't give you the job."
The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentences that told about being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The manager said, "Yes, but the sign also says that you have to be bilingual."
The dog looked at him straight in the face and said.......
"Meow!"
Have a great day...and keep smiling!!!!!

I am on my SIL's computer right now but I managed to do some New Year's cards and save them to freepmail before I came down here... This monitor is so different from mine at home as far as graphic colors go..They are much paler(some not all).. I am hesitant to frame new pictures. I hope someone tells me if the pictures I post are too dark to see or if my frames don't match!

LOL...I'll tell you. You do such a WONDERFUL JOB...and are way advanced past me. I'm just like the kid that copies off the other kids paper :o) Thought I had it down until the latest "glitch" and now I'm just a "newbie" again.
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday and hope you know how much you are appreciated here!

Oh Kitty...that is such a sweet picture. Appreciated your "flower" for FredtheCat. You know...she (we named her when we didn't know the difference LOL) was getting so old, was basically deaf and senile. I'm just glad she went the way she did. I swear she is having a blast chasing mice at rainbowbridge. God bless our kitties!

Funny Post Dutchess. Rusty is a Doll! :)
Miss Daisy has been busy digging the yard up this month, she's trying to catch the mole who has tunnels in the yard. Looks like we'll have to redo the yard in the Spring (again).

I finally found a pic of one of the family pets, so I can at last post on topic on this thread. This is our cat, Saffire, who showed up on our dorrstep one cold October morning a couple of years ago and has been with us ever since. She is a very well-mannered, affectionate cat and we are most happy to have her with us. (Or should I say we are most happy she has us with her?)

She is indeed a sweetie - very dainty, too. We feed her dry cat food. She picks the morsals up one at a time in her paw before eating them. Sometimes, she drops them into the water, other times, she eats them directly off her paw.
