Prosecutor: Undercover cop begged for his life

NEW YORK (AP) -- An undercover detective, after seeing his partner executed, begged for mercy before being killed himself in a weapons-buying sting gone awry, a prosecutor said Monday in closing arguments at the alleged gunman's death penalty trial.

"Pleading for his life, begging to live, knowing he would never see his family again, knowing that this was the end -- that, ladies and gentlemen, is how James Nemorin spent his last moments on this earth," prosecutor Morris Fodeman told jurors in federal court in Brooklyn.

Ronell Wilson, 24, is charged with killing detectives Nemorin, 36, and Rodney Andrews, 34, in Staten Island in March 2003. They were shot in the head and dumped on a street by a "ruthless murderer," Fodeman said.

"Why would he execute two men in cold blood?" he said. "Because he could. ... Because he wanted to impress his criminal friends."............

Prosecutors: Rap Song Amounts To Confession In Cop Killing

UPDATED: 8:58 am EST December 12, 2006 NEW YORK -- Prosecutors said a rap song written by the man charged in the killing of two undercover detectives on Staten Island amounts to a confession.

Federal prosecutor Colleen Kavanagh said the defendant identifies himself by his nickname, "Rated R", in the rap song and brags about shooting one of the detectives in the head.

The song, written on two sheets of paper, was introduced Monday as evidence in the trial of Ronnell Wilson. The 24-year-old man is charged with the murders of detectives James Nemorin and Rodney Andrews in Staten Island back in March 2003.

Wilson allegedly wrote the lyrics when he was on the run.

Prosecutors around the country are beginning to use rap lyrics as evidence of criminal acts, intent or mindset.

Isn't it funny that the MSM slime hype the story of the thug that was shot by NY police officers when he attempted to kill them with his vehicle, and little about the murders of these two officers is mentioned in the media.

Sorry but here in NY we did away with the death penalty because its harsh punishment. Anyone see Al Sharpton at that trial?

Finally, rap getting its due.

In my eyes, rock has been persecuted long enough. They didn't cause anything bad, the drug addicts that listened to the bands did.

The animal side of me want that scumbag to experience something that will make him grovel, whine, squeal, and squirm for his miserable, cowardly life.

Then just as he thinks he's about to go scot free, inflict something on him that will make an R rating look like "Barbie fun park."

These gangsta's deserve the death penalty, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Ahh...but this is NY where they will be sent to prison for life (if the public is lucky). Isn't it ironic that these cops were in a sting operation in an area of strict gun control. Had this been in an area where citizens are trusted to carry weapons and possess them this incident may have never occurred.

You're right...heroes trying to clean up their streets...killed by a worthless piece of garbage...and now their families have to see so-called "black leaders" marching every other day in the streets implying threats against cops...where was Al Sharpton when these hero cops were killed?

Detective Rodney J. Andrews

Detective James V. Nemorin

Set up an opportunity to commit a crime where no opportunity exists,

Right, I'm sure this fellow was a fine upstanding citizen save for this one incident where he was tricked into murdering two people.

where was Al Sharpton when these hero cops were killed?

I wonder if Sharptongue would have gotten involved if a white man had killed two black cops. P.S. has that ever happened?

Actually, if "shall not be infringed" was still the "supreme law of the land", this never would have happened.

That being said, execute this murderous thug. Anyone who initiates force against another like this doesn't deserve to continue being an oxygen thief.

There's no way they can spin a racist angle out of this one. They are slime. Unbelievable slime.

They can't execute this guy fast enough.

It won't happen in Hillary Clinton's liberal New York.
They really don't care much about innocent people and police officers there.
I'm surprised there's not more of this, since killers know they will never get real justice in New York.
But that's their problem - - they get exactly the scumbag politicians they elect and deserve.
