No, trading liberty for security is fine ~ however, trading "essential liberty" is the issue.

When you give up your right to defend yourself you are losing "essential liberty".

Kinda like that movie they showed us in the '60s/70's when the teacher was out and no sub was available. "An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge," if memory serves. Just when you reach for the left breast ....SNAP!

"Pleading for his life, begging to live, knowing he would never see his family again, knowing that this was the end -- that, ladies and gentlemen, is how James Nemorin spent his last moments on this earth,"

Wuss! Don't 'PLEAD AND BEG', spit in his face and curse him!

Brooklyn NY and Fairfax Va are like apples and oranges. I was in Fairfax 2 months ago to visit the NRA. Most of Fairfax is a pretty nice place to live-- most of Brooklyn is like a 3rd world country. Again, apples and oranges- can't compair the two.

Creating crime and opportunities to commit crime in order to prevent crime is a bad policy, as illustrated by this situation.

Ohh right.. so the NYPD forced this guy to submit to the thug life style? Did the NYPD send him an application to the local gang also? I am sure they also gave him a NYC funded grant to start him in the street pharacutical business. Sure, he was only arrested a handfull of times.. but he was just starting to pull his life back together.. thknking about going to get his GED and become a doctor one day(sarc off)

You have to be joking. A savage is a savage. They are found in NY, Fl, Va, Ga, Cali.. all 50 states.

You called me an idiot in your other post.. people like you are exactly why this site is going down the crapper. There are still a lot of good peple on here. However, too many resort to name calling and act like juveniles.

Hmmm ~ the NRA headquarters is in a nice place ~ just West of Fairfax City.

Now, if you go EAST on US 50 and go toward Seven Corners you will enter into one of the world's great immigrant urban areas ~ 15 miles from DC you meet Little Saigon.

Go South and you find yourself cruising through a section of the county where you'd best know Spanish to do business, and then, cut over to the Southwest and drive toward Annandale (using 236, etc.) and you will have to learn Korean. Go West again toward my neighborhood ~ this time it's Afghan and Arabic. This area is the major site of Afghani settlement in North America ~ virtually all their college educated class lived out their exile here.

No, it doesn't look third-world, and we don't go messing with people over their weapons.

Drunk drivers get picked up; dopers get busted; thieves go to jail; murderers get executed.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot, go West by Northwest from NRA headquarters generally tending toward Herndon. It', too, is a nice place ~ something like 90% immigrant, and from virtually every country on Earth. They recently deposed the former City Council that'd built a "day laborer" center and had the cops go easy on the illegals. Now they have a regime that's repudiated the center and the cops are busting illegals left and right.

They don't mess with your guns either.

The point I was making was you really can compare the New York boroughs and Fairfax County, Virginia.

The boroughs come off bad in the comparison, but not because they are filled with third-world immigrants.

Instead, it's pretty obvious New York (city and state) have their priorities inverted.

It's not the guns; it's not the dope; it's the failure of the government to bust heads and take names.

Third-worlders, just like anybody else, respond positively to a bit of discipline.

You called me an idiot in your other post..

You called me an idiot I simply pointed out that by your words you prove to be the idiot not me.

The NYPD forced these good officers to submit to thug life, to act as thugs, and do business with thugs and they died because of it. The murderer is to blame for the murder, 100% guilty.
The people who put these cops are to blame for giving the thug an opportunity to kill good cops. If you don't see that then you're blind.

You are right. However you are confusing and "IS" with an "OUGHT." In reality his life will be quite comfortable. If telegenic there will be paid interviews. A ghost writer may be assigned to him to tell his story. When he is released his civil rights will be restored and he will run for and achieve office. After years of access to taxpayer funds he will retire on a pension and his Swiss bank account. He will then finish life a revered civil rights figure.
