DeLay: 'Hillary Will Be the Next President'
Human Events Online ^ | December 12, 2006 | Robert Bluey

Posted on 12/12/2006 1:03:56 PM PST by Quilla

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said today that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D.-N.Y.) would be elected president in 2008 and would probably tap Senate colleague Barack Obama (D.-Ill.) as her running mate.

DeLay met with conservative bloggers at a weekly lunch meeting hosted by HUMAN EVENTS and the Heritage Foundation. He is making the rounds in Washington to promote his new blog and activism website, TomDeLay.com.

DeLay said he was motivated to start the blog and create the Grassroots Action and Information Network after observing the success of liberal organizations such as MoveOn.org, the Media Fund and Americans Coming Together. He said he hopes to utilize some of the same tools to help Republicans win elections.

It’s this liberal coalition, working in concert with the news media, that will propel Clinton to the White House in 2008, DeLay said. “Hillary will be the next president of the United States because they have built a coalition,” he said.

DeLay also implored conservatives to start digging into Obama’s past. He said Obama’s record in the Illinois Senate was on par with a “Marxist leftist.” Citing defeated U.S. Senate candidate Harold Ford of Tennessee, DeLay said Obama was attempting to disguise his liberal views. (Read Amanda Carpenter’s report on Obama and his conflicting rhetoric.)

DeLay named Clinton loyalists Harold Ickes, Sidney Blumenthal, James Carville, Paul Begala and Joe Lockhart as the masterminds behind the left-wing coalition. He said that these groups, more than anything else, contributed to the GOP’s fall this November. “I have never seen a more powerful coalition,” he said.

One such example of the coalition’s power played out precisely as planned in California’s 11th District. Republican Rep. Richard Pombo was toppled after facing an onslaught of attacks from the left.

DeLay said his goal in creating the new organization is to turn ideas into action. He said he will reach out to the diverse coalition of conservative groups and bring them together to rival the coalition built by liberals. Prior to the 1994 Republican takeover of Congress, DeLay said he employed a similar strategy that the GOP has gradually abandoned.

One day after launching the new website, DeLay said he’s had 100 people pay the $52 per year to join the Grassroots Action and Information Network.

And that took some doing in Illinois!

Well, Illinois is still there, and still heavily controlled by the Daley Gang, so that's entirely possible. Hussein Obama is even a minor member of that gang.

I've figured anybody that says they are running on the Democrat ticket for President is just doing their tryout for VP to Hillary. I think you are exactly correct why she will pick Obama. It isn't that the black vote would vote Republican; it's just that they are about as enthusiastic about voting for Hillary as I am for voting for McCain, Giuliani, etc., so Obama will bring them out instead of Soros having to waste all that $ to round them up and bus them from precinct to precint. Now the party honchos can either pocket Soros' $ or they can use it for something more constructive - like buying votes at colleges or supressing votes in red states, etc.

This year's election has shown that the Left, and especially the "dinosaur media" is as red-fanged and ravenous as ever. The Democrats, a party we know to be incompetent and corrupt, were able to use a booming economy and no terrorist attacks on our soil as somehow a sign of the Republicans failure.

The stinking traitors. The only reason Kerry wasn't elected was he was so repulsive even the 'Rats couldn't get excited about him. They will pull out all stops for Hillary. She will be favorably mentioned in every style and women's magazine. She will appear in TV dramas and sit-coms, always as some kind of modern day savior. She'll be on Oprah once a week expressing her concern for America and her disappointment with the evil Republicans.

Bad-mouthing her here, or shooting the messanger Delay is not going to change it.

Thanks for listening. I really despise all things Democratic right now. The voters in my district voted one of the best congresswomen out and replaced her with a stinking limosine liberal.

The Hillary prediction may just occur; however, Obama would not run for VP. His ambitions are for the presidency and he would not want to mess those up. FWIW, I'm not so sure he isn't going to give her a run for her money.

I do think 2 years out is a little soon for such a madam president prediction. She has always been a concern, and we really do need to see what a mess a dim congress makes of things.

Actually Ivan, in this country it is fast becoming the most recognizable trait of the Republican Party.

In this respect this makes her more of a man than Teddy Kennedy, who chickened out of future presidential races after due reflection on what happened to his older brothers.

And Teddy is the one who would deserve it!

I have know a guy, an alcoholic who lives in transient housing and picks up occasional painting and odd job work. He was so excited about Murtha, and here in my neck of the woods, John Hall. This guy is 63 and he and his social security, medicaid buddies, stay up til all hours getting stinking drunk and playing video games. And he gets to vote. Natch, he votes democratic. Hates the "rich" pubbies. Only rich people around here are the civil servants, school teachers, and construction folks, more or less. V's wife.

"Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said today that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D.-N.Y.) would be elected president in 2008 and would probably tap Senate colleague Barack Obama (D.-Ill.) as her running mate."

Got as far as this and had to go throw up. God forbid this pair ever set foot in the White House.

Amen to that, Sistah! He's all about the cash. Who wants to start a pole on when this website and organization are busted up for some sort of money laundering or ponsi scheme?

Based on the comments on FR, Delay is absolutely right.

If we run a liberal Republican like the media wants, we lose. The base of the party will simply evaporate--or turn to a 3rd Party.

Sad but true.

After this past Nov 7th disaster, I have very little doubt that the Beast will indeed be voted in as our President.

Interesting that the messenger is attacked intead of rallying around the GOP front runner for 2008.

That's one major reason why we lost in 2006.

We need to stop attacking the messenger who brings us news we dont want to hear. That not only gives me the image of one who has his head in the ground, but also a pre-2006 democrat tactic

Not only is he a defeatest, he's cluless. Hillary getting the nomination guarantees a Republican win. She is not going to win.
