Your point being what? Did you want him to veto the tax cuts? or maybe the Patriot Act? or maybe appropriations for our troops?

What exactly do you mean?

What the hell happened to Hart?? Even the NY Times rated her as safe before. That is a blow since the pro life movement supported her.

What's the difference between a conservative democrat and a liberal republican?

What's the difference between Zell Miller and Lincoln Chaffee?

In a hypothetical race between those two, I'd vote for the Democrat.

Could also be that despite large turn out for republicans ( which thereare multiple reports of large turnouts in gop areas) but it appears that the indy's turned against the GOP in large numbers. Even if the GOP had a larger turnout number to dems, the indy's must have broken heavy to dem. Most sad about PA and IN.

Yes, unfortunately. We'll have to see if Casey stays in the center, otherwise Santorum should come back with a bang in 2008 or 2010, as Governor, Senator or President.

You mean like J.D. Hayworth and Rick Santorum?

"Conservatives" lost tonight: big time

The social right sure did maybe we could have some 94 types repubs who stand for smaller government, national security and personal responsibility.

"I hate to say it, but it's the loss of the ability to communicate a coherent vision, which is responsible.
Ronald Reagan would not have presided over this debacle.
Because even liberals, respected him. Because he stood firmly and without wavering for what was RIGHT."

Santorum did that.
It didn't work.

Actually, if you look, it's those "real, true" conservatives who are being defeated. Why don't more people GET this?

We DO get it. We're just disgusted by it. We don't want liberals OR moderates running the country. I'm at the point where there's really no difference from voting demoncrat if you get a moderate republican in office anyway. So you might as well 'throw your vote away' on an actual conservative, or a Constitution Party candidate.

I voted straight Republican, but some obviously didn't. Lacking powers of ESP, I was merely hypothesizing on a couple reasons why that may have happened.

No, I think your math is off. In Prince William county there are approximately 45,000 more votes to count. Webb has been carrying this pricinct by 3%. Three percent of 45,000 is 1,350 votes. Webb cannot close the gap at the current trend rate. Allen should win by about 4,000 votes or so.

I'm feeling very disconnected from so many people right now. I feel like disinviting the liberal friends that I have coming for Thanksgiving. Actually, they invited themselves. One friend, I don't think I will be even speaking to, and she didn't even vote. I just can't tolerate the stupidity.
