As I have already posted on this thread, all Republicans had to do was to be conservative. Many of them can't seem to do that. Unfortunately, Bush's border stance has effected many congressional races. His stance has not been conservative. Also many Republicans, cast off their conservative shackles and tried to get the moderate vote. Republicans have not differentiated themselves enough from democrats. Also Bush, with the bully pulpit, did not bring home the "why" of Iraq to the American public.

I know there are many around here who won't support that theory, but it remains out there, nevertheless.

He ought too.

The Democratic Party is the party of treason and everyone who voted for them today is a traitor and deserves a traitor's punishment.

No price is too high to pay to stop Vietnam from being repeated in Iraq. No price in the world is too high to pay.

I swore, as a child, that I would never let the treason which stained America's honor in Vietnam be repeated. No price is too high to pay to prevent that evil from occuring again.

The Democrats are traitors, pure and simple. The House of Representatives is now in the hands of people who are enemies of the United States of America, and probably more dangerous to the future of the United States than al-Qaeda.

The Fairness Doctrine is pointless and irrelevant in a world where the internet and satellite radio are constantly grabbing market share from both major forms of broadcast media (television and radio).

What we do here is nothing different than what was done in early America. Papers were posted in the town square and people stood around and exchanged opinions. The fairness doctrine is, as you said, pointless.

sad thing is they will talk the talk of "bipartisanship" for the next few months, then the supeonas will fly by February...

they'll probably just hammer a few issues to death to prep for the presidential.

I also expect some folks to exit the Bush Admin....it's the last 2 years, so nothing unusual in that, but this would seem like a good time to start applying for a lobbyist job...hehe

yep , you got it bro..The Islamics must be rolling on the cave floor laughing over how God damned STUPID the American public is. The Dems have the same talking points as the terrorist and now the people voted a bunch of them into office. The Republicans better learn to play real HARD BALL or we better kiss 08 good by .

Brown is a known entity if you look at his record. BUT his record was hidden by the media, and so the voters were duped into thinking he is what he is not.

That's my last point about Blackwell. People want to be spoon fed their political choices because they are too damn lazy to figure out who is running their states and their country. Most people spend more time talking about why Madonna adopted some kid or why Britney Spears is divorcing K-fed than they do figuring out what the hell is going on around them that really matters. And now I have to live in a state where a majority of the people have no clue about Brown, Strickland or Pelosi. This lady is going to really be annoying for the next two years.

Bullshit. The majority of these election results are the fault of the terribly biased reporting of the MSM.
No matter WHAT the GOP had done the last few years, MSM would have twisted everything to help the RATS.

My anger is at the media first, then the GOP and their inability to fight their twisting of the news.

I'm watching these returns come in and I am absolutely stunned. I am one of those who believed that we would keep both House and Senate this year, as assured by Karl Rove.

I cannot believe that with all of our GOTV prowess that we are getting hammered the way we are tonight. Can it be that these projections are not going to win out when all the votes are counted?

How could Rove/Mehlman have been so wrong on this outcome?

I am watching FNC talk about Pelosi, Rangel, Hastings, Conyers and Waxman taking over House leadership positions and am fighting the urge to vomit my guts out.

I'm hoping that in the early morning hours the tide is going to turn in our favor, but maybe it's not meant to be this year. I was convinced that the American people would not turn their backs on the GOP in the midst of all of this prosperity. Guess I was wrong.

I remember being afraid for the country when Clinton won in '92. I was right.

Yep, we ultimately got 9/11 because of it.
