CMA Awards Shocker – Carrie Underwood Wins, Faith Hill Storms Off The biggest news coming out of the CMA Awards isn’t about who won what award. It’s about how Faith Hill reacted when Carrie Underwood won the Female Vocalist of the Year award. When Carrie Underwood was announced as the winner, Faith Hill threw her hands up into the air, yelled at the camera, and then stormed off. Faith Hill’s words were not audible, but she appeared to be screaming “What!”
What exactly Faith Hill said and if she was really angry or just trying to make a joke has become a hot topic on message boards and blogs across the Internet. Many viewers have interpreted Faith Hill’s reaction to be one of shock and outrage over a relatively new singer to the country music world getting such a prestigious award. Other viewers have argued that Faith Hill was just pretending to be upset as a joke or that she was asking “What?” because she couldn’t hear who had won.
Whether Faith Hill was seriously upset, just making a joke, or having difficulty hearing, her reaction has created shockwaves among country music fans. Many viewers saw Faith Hill’s reaction as being in poor taste, regardless of whether it was serious or meant as a joke. Other fans have rushed to Faith Hill’s defense and argued that she was justified in her reaction because they feel the Female Vocalist of the Year award should go to a veteran performer.
