I'm Bursting (Hugh Hewit on R's winning Tuesday)
Hugh Hewitt ^ | 11/4/2006 | Hugh Hewitt

My homeys at the Weekly Standard have published their election predictions, and they range from dire to calamitous. Meanwhile, I’m merrily skipping about Soxblog Manor (in a completely manly way, mind you) whistling a happy tune. I expect Tuesday to be an extremely successful day for the Republican Party.

I think God gave is a gift in the form of John Kerry. The GOP base is now fully reminded of what the Liberals are. The rest is up to us.

I don't have it either, but I still voted and hope we all will vote regardless of what the polls say. But I think we will lose on Tuesday and lose big, which sucks. The Republican's just haven't been Conservative enough these last few years and we want them to be. When will they ever learn? They learn by losing. I pray that doesn't happen but I'm not very optimistic we will pull elections day off, however I would love to be proven wrong!

They have a whole long "blame" list...Voters disenfranchised (that word a legacy of Al Gore) by voter I.D. or some other contrived means, long lines, can't find the polling places, not enough information or received intimidating info, polls closed too early or didn't open early enough, not enough voting places in Dem ares, and the biggie of them all...Karl Rove pre-programmed the machines!

You know, back in 2002, Paul Wellstone was less then three days away from finishing his work on a perfect, unhackable electronic voting machine. That's why Rove used the GOP's laser beam satellite to shoot down Wellstone's plane!!!

Big Difference - FOF is a GREAT movie - and Robin Williams movie sucked - even the commercials for it sucked.

Righnow its only about ONE issue - War in Iraq - people can't handle it and don't want anything that has anything to do with war.

If they are wrong, then somethings wrong with them.

Freedom of the press allows them to be "misleading," "partisan," "biased," etc. without fear of prosecution. If they want to play fast and loose with credibility we'll see how well they do at losing customers, as we are presently seeing. What is not permitted by law, however, is the fraud perpetrated by Democrats in urban areas where dead people tend to vote early and often. That's where I'd like to see some serious investigation and prosecution.

Hmmmmm....interesting situation in Washington state. Maybe we will see some backlash and payback for the old "Seattle vote count" used against Dino Rossi.

Flags of our Fathers wasn't very good is why it bombed. If the movie would have focused on the actual battle for Iwo Jima instead of the guys who toured the nation it would have done better. The movie was good when they flashed back to the guys taking Iwo but it became boring and preachy when it was about the 3 guys.

Hugh is really optimistic! I would love this to be true and
watch most of MSM go apoplectic.

In Ohio, we have two propositions. One to increase the minimum wage, and one to amend the State Constitution to allow slot machines to help pay for college tuition.

This is an update from late Friday from a subscription based service. His numbers changed to show a huge tide back to the GOP to capture the Senate but a loss of the House by 3. Note the last sentence though. Do you think this is a tease as in "the news is not good...it's great" or does he have reason to seem glum? I am not a defeatist. I'd love to believe Hewitt's case.

Program note

I want to let everyone know what the schedule is for election coverage here at Election Projection. I've posted the Daily Poll Report for today, but I haven't updated the state pages yet. That will come this weekend some time followed by the email alerts for subscribers. On Monday, I will post the last Daily Poll Report late in the afternoon or early evening so I can capture as many polls as possible. Then early Tuesday morning, Election Day, I will post the final projections in the last Weekly Projection Update which will be available to everyone. I will also post the final margins for subscribers on the Premium Projection Page.

For those who haven't subscribed, I do want to give you a clue about what's been happening to the projections since the last Weekly Projection Update on October 28. Here's the clue: It ain't good for the GOP.

This is Hugh Hewitt's blog, but the post is by Dean Barnett.

You're right. Then in this case it's Barnett that slays me.

I really just cannot believe that the same repulicans who took the last election are not going to vote.

Just because the MSM says there are Republicans that are not going to vote, doesn't mean it's true. I for one, never believe the hype about Republicans not voting this year. Where's the proof?

In 2004 the polls showed we would lose from 3 to 19 seats . We gained 3 in the House and 4 in the Senate.

Here's the clue: It ain't good for the GOP.

BE REALISTIC ! THAT's THE MESSAGE. I know we all want to be believers but the margin of error in most of the races that show a GOP defeat is just too wide.

I'm of course, voting Republican, but I am not optimistic at all.
