I've jettisoned all of my liberal "friends." Now, I'm working on getting rid of my liberal "relatives." Life is too short to have to explain to someone (who wouldn't listen anyway) why George W. Bush would be a better choice for President than John Francois Kerry. I stopped the back and forth e-mails and the face-to-face discussions. Total waste of time. If I want to raise my blood pressure, I'd rather eat and drink what I'm not supposed to eat and drink. (Trust me on this. I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek, but my life has improved immeasurably since I removed liberals from my life.)

I was polled precisely once. It was a telephone poll (Field Poll as I recall) during the 1988 presidential election.

The young woman who asked me questions was obviously reading from a prepared sheet.

What I remember most was how many of the questions seemed loaded to the port side (they might guide an independent or undecided toward the left); and also how the questioner seemed a tad incredulous about my answer on whom I favored for president (George H.W. Bush). She even gave me a second chance to get it right. I sensed some disapproval in her voice when I affirmed GHWB as my choice.

Fast forward to present.

I would never participate in a telephone poll today. I'm more identity-secure these days, and I no longer give personal info out to any stranger (no matter who they say they are).

BTW, the polling company never called back. I must have made their "naughty" list reserved for decisive Republicans.

I really just cannot believe that the same repulicans who took the last election are not going to vote. If they do not vote, there will be a problem.

As far as I can tell by the people I talk to, the same Republicans who voted last election are itching to get back to the polls Tuesday. We are tired ot the BDM and the garbage they want everyone to believe, and intend to have a show of force.

However, I also do not feel that so many dems are so energized, as the msm leads us to believe.

Most of the dims I work with, have no intentions of voting Tuesday. I think part is that Austin, TX is very liberal and they have it in the bag anyway.

Good take on the momentum issue. This weirdness with the polls is something that has happened essentially since the President has been in office.

Rove has mastered two things, one the ability to really turn out the base and second, but most important, timing the upswing of the candidates PERFECTLY for the weekend right before the election. Like runners using that last burst of energy to pull ahead right at the tape.

It used to be, from what I can tell, that the week before the election a candidates numbers pretty much solidified and held there. What is happening now is that within the last two weeks of an election, the Dem numbers crystallize and start to fall, while the GOP numbers start to gain and peak on election day...completely faking out the pollsters, but timing it just right to win at that ballot box.

I am still trying to figure out what strategies they are using to do this, but it is really working well and has been very consistent...and has confounded the pollsters in every race since this administration took over.

McGavick's numbers are a case in point. We may just pull this thing out after all and that will be a HUGE victory. (Note that I am a Zogby interactive poll taker and have quit taking them in the last two weeks. I don't WANT him to know where I stand at this point.)

I am still trying to get a handle on what they are doing, but one very important aspect is grabbing and holding the bully pulpit by going around the msm and getting their big players out of DC and stumping on the ground.

In any case, I'm cautiously optimistic about Tuesday.

Of course...what else will the rats say...we cheated...it's those electronic Diebold voting machines...yes, I say, YES...those electronic voting machines help to keep the fraud down to a minimum...that's what they really hate...THEY CAN'T CHEAT!!!
