Karl Rove, a Cancer on American Politics? "Everyone says that Karl Rove is a genius. Yeah, right. So are cigarette companies. They get you to buy cigarettes even though we know they cause cancer. That is the kind of genius Karl Rove is."

Columnist Tom Friedman really wants the Republicans to suffer next Tuesday, judging by his Friday column (Times Select required) "Insulting Our Troops, and Out Intelligence."
"George Bush, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld think youre stupid. Yes, they do.
"They think they can take a mangled quip about President Bush and Iraq by John Kerry -- a man who is not even running for office but who, unlike Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney, never ran away from combat service -- and get you to vote against all Democrats in this election.
"Every time you hear Mr. Bush or Mr. Cheney lash out against Mr. Kerry, I hope you will say to yourself, 'They must think Im stupid.' Because they surely do."
And apparently, Karl Rove causes cancer.
"Everyone says that Karl Rove is a genius. Yeah, right. So are cigarette companies. They get you to buy cigarettes even though we know they cause cancer. That is the kind of genius Karl Rove is. He is not a man who has designed a strategy to reunite our country around an agenda of renewal for the 21st century -- to bring out the best in us. His 'genius' is taking some irrelevant aside by John Kerry and twisting it to bring out the worst in us, so you will ignore the mess that the Bush team has visited on this country.
"And Karl Rove has succeeded at that in the past because he was sure that he could sell just enough Bush cigarettes, even though people knew they caused cancer. Please, please, for our countrys health, prove him wrong this time."
He does...except when he is on Oprah, then he's only a demigod worshipping at the feet of the Goddess herself.
Friedman deserves no civility. He needs to be cold-cocked on national TV.
I wonder what Friedman's curriculum vitae was during Viet Nam! It makes me sick that such people can denigrate W's long-term service in the National Guard while defending the disgusting Clinton who hated the military. For shame!
I'm a dislocated Texan and folk like Friedman and their swishy tone and body pout make me puke literally.
Democratic politicians* support spreading tumors via embryonic stem cells.
*And Michael Andrew Fox (AKA, Michael J Fox)
(There's tumors in them thar' embryonic stem cells.)
I regard the Labour Party and the Liberal Party here as being chock full of idiots, but at least I have some assurance that they want to do the right thing for the country, albeit in a misguided way.
The Democrat Party has made it very clear that they care about nothing except gaining power. The entire nation could burn in agony, but if they controlled the flaming ruins, they would be satisfied. They are the most evil political party on the planet and should be disbanded.
Regards, Ivan
Columnist Tom Friedman must be having a really bad day. His column sound a little bitter, flat and yes, stupid. I love the way Karl Rove can affect an elite liberal like that.
Link to the thread announcing The RYMB (ROVE-YOU-MAGNIFICENT-BASTARD Ping List...:)
Sure to be a high volume one...
Friedman is a small pimple of a man. A pathetic example of the kind of mediocrity that comes from liberalism.
Compliments of the Genius Freeper "Dead"...:)
Petronski gets the credit...I just swiped the link.
LOL! I have posted this a bunch of times, and...EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT I LAUGH!
I think you got it right now. ;-)
Friedman has won THREE "Putzer Prizes" (Pulitzers) and cannot read or understand simple English?? The meaning and implications of what Kerry actually SAID are obvious to anyone who isn't a partisan hack like most NY Times Demagogues. Whether Kerry meant to say something else, lost in his feverish leftist brain, what he did say was that college students who don't succeed in their studies risk ending up "stuck in Iraq"...... my opinion of Friedman keeps going down. This is just a pitiful hack-job by a man who should know better.
