John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions
johnkerry.com ^

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

I already sent him a love note, but I will follow your idea; we've got a carpetbagger running here against Mary Bono - very Kerryesque.

I'm on it!

I KNOW he really said what he said in his speech yesterday. When I said "his words", I was referring to the text of the press release at johnkerry.com.

That's some funny shit up there. I don't think Iowa Hawk could have done better.

This is going to help us. Pelosi, Reed, et. al are hiding the last few days before the election and this puke comes out and spews his true feelings. Besides offending our past and present people in uniform, he is going to PO some regular Americans.

LOLOLOLOLOL!

This man is more awkward and pathetically arrogant in avoiding blame by the day. This is not a surprise from someone who considers himself part of the "reality party".

Now the sad part is the vast number of people who gave this jerk their vote.

I'm sure it will cause a lot of chatter. And I think he meant exactly what he said when he said it. All that's comming out of his office now is an attempt to spin it in some way to make him look like the victim.

Call your congressman and both US Senators - local offices or DC. Raise Hell and let them feel your pain.

Kerry's behavior is more proof that the 'Rats are simply not ready for prime time.

God did help us. This man was almost president...

"He's from Massachusetts."

Hey, not everyone in Massachusetts voted for the two degenerate playboys.

I'm no fan of Kerry, but when I first heard this remark, I thought that he was referring to Bush. That is, I thought that he was saying that it was Bush's lack of intelligence that got us into Iraq. (I like Bush, so don't yell at me.) Could this be what he actually meant?

I wish this actually did represent a public meltdown from this scumbag, but it is a carefully calculated response to make him come off as "tough" and not as the eitist wussbag he is.

If so, the person who "calculated" the response has such a severe case of Bush Derangement Syndrome that they ought not be allowed in public. You know, like all the other Dems.
