I picked up talk radio 1520 AM from Buffalo tonight, which the female talk radio host described as "Buffalo's Left Radio Station." A caller, Dave, announced that he was going to be interviewed by CNN radio to give his views on the midterm elections. The host asked "why you?" Another host explained that CNN had called him and asked that he recommend their "most intelligent caller" and he referred them to Dave. The first host then said they were revealing things that are supposed to be "secrets" about how radio works.
Dave then showed his "intelligence" by saying America has been lied into wars for over 200 years. Notably, he believed the ships were lined up at Pearl Harbor so they would be a more "tempting target" to the Japanese.
It would be hard to convey just how left wing this radio station was. The host was saying that America has been a terrorist country, the world will always be full of terrorism, and on 9-11 Osama Bin Laden was just saying "Welcome to the World, America." She was also complaining about "Why the Hell do Americans always have to win everything?" She said she'd rather have her kid "be a loser and alive, than a winner and dead."
So apparently CNN reaches out to such stations to find left wing kooks and present them on air as reflective of voter sentiment.
Got what she wished for, I'll bet.

That would be covered by the law of unintended consequences. The Left always forgets about that one.

I wouldn't necessarily use the Pearl Harbor bit to show his ignorance. I don't think that view point calls for the tinfoil hat.

Yes, "Dave" said we were lied into every one of those wars, plus the Spanish American war. However, they all stated very quickly that unlike George Bush, Bill Clinton never lied about the first WTC bombing.
I hope Rush or Fox picks up on this.
I spend a lot of time on the step climber at my local gym. They have a dozen large flat screens mounted on the wall in front so I am forced to see CNN on one of the TVs. You are absolutely correct. It is a wall-to-wall DNC telethon. Starting with the large graphics ominously proclaiming, "A Broken Government", to Wolf Blitzed and his effort, and all the story selections, the man-on-the-street ruse, and so forth. It's patently obvious.
Even IF FDR knew the Pearl Harbor attack was coming, we wouldn't have been "lied into the war". Japan attacked us at Pearl and launched attacks that day against many nations throughout the Pacific theatre. The point of the radio station was that every American war has been a lie perpetrated on the American public, especially the Iraq war. It was a very anti-American view.
Thanks for posting this, as I have always marveled at how a reporter manages to find just the right person to interview for just the right story.

I truly suspect the "press" and the MSM (as opposed to the
New Media, the bloggers, Freepers) are intellectually lazy, and work ethic lazy. Plus, they have an agenda, but they have to pretend they don't. So, that recipe works out perfectly for those writing the stories (with an agenda) to have a data base of people who have the same agenda to be interviewed. Bingo! Ka-Ching!
I do know that often wire services interview people, then we discover they are activists, and sometimes have been interviewed over and over again. Of course, the wires never mention this fact (stories often about Bush and Iraq).
BTW: On MTV tonight (I forgot to watch the whole thing) they have poor, disabled Iraqi vets coming home... MTV owned by Viacom (CBS)
Laziness is a lot of it, IMO.
In an election season the "media" always pulls out all the stops in an effort to demonize republicans and deify democrats.
They don't care about ratings, they're on a "mission".
Well, it's laziness with a left wing spin. but certainly it is hard to find any real "reporters" these days. Most news staffs were disbanded a decade or more ago and they spend a lot of time interviewing each other.
