On Friday night, Hillary Clinton finally had to face an unscripted, uncontrolled media event -- a debate with her feisty opponent John Spencer, the Republican candidate for Senator from New York this year.
Spencer pinned her ears back with his opening statement when he declared: "I am the only person here who really wants to be the Senator from New York .... she wants to be president."

Agreed.
Going to watch it again.
Yeah, but Presidential debates are televised nationwide and people watch them so it will be much more difficult for the treason media to spin it into GOP "hostility". (...and this is all hypothetical in the event the Dims are actually crazy enough to nominate that Hildabeast).
Well, CBS took the lead in brushing off Clinton's admitted infidelities. They turned his national candidacy around even though popular opinion at the time showed he was losing it as a candidate.
Granted, though, the media is losing its king-making power. Couric certainly doesn't show much clout lately for CBS. Hopefully the trend will continue and Hellery's MSM friends won't be able to help her this time.
That's a good line! The Democrats never admit responsibility for anything, its a blame-Bush all-the-time worldview. It was repulsive that Hillary blames Bush for NK nuke test when we all know that it was the failed 1994 Clinton admin deal that led us down this primrose path.
I've been saying she can't get past '08 without those incessent weekly debates the dems love to hold. It will be fascinating to see her when she can no longer duck the questions from her own party, much less if she does win the nomination and has to face our candidate (please Lord, less us nominate a person who can think on his feet).
And let's not forget that years later CBS released the *whole* interview and it became clear they 'airbrushed' it to eliminate the more difficult moments. Media now is greasing the skids for Hillary, Obama, and few other media favorites.
..sounds like she could use Dick Morris about now ; ^)
Meanwhile the GOP candidate will not be directly responsible for Iraq, which Bush had weighing him down in 2004. So if the GOP candidate runs a good campaign, with domestic positions similar to Bush, than he should be able to do a little better against Hillary than Bush did against Kerry. That would mean he wins every state that Bush won plus possibly New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Oregon, and/or Pennsylvania. Maybe if Hillary pulled out all the stops she could take Iowa from the GOP, but overall I think we would do a little better against her than against Kerry and win decisively in the electoral vote. I sure hope my analysis is correct.
Appreciate your thoughts on post 49.
Spencer had another pretty good line that hasn't been reported much in the media. For some unknown reason, Hillary! said something about a plague of locusts in one of her answers. Spencer said if there actually were a plague of locusts, guess who's fault that would be, according to Hillary! - "Bush's fault!"
How many times did he change the Secretary of War?
Here's the exchange of words.

Once.
Well, here's the thing. Herself, the Cold and Joyless, probably did not lose a significant amount of support, and like the approach of Rick Lazio to her podium in the 2000 debate, this onslaught by Spencer may well be seen as "being threatening".
Though what is more threatening than Herself, the Cold and Joyless, is hard to imagine.
Here's a snip of that exchange also...

If anyone missed it, you can view or download (about 100 megs) the entire debate here.

He said Abe Lincoln was the President...you're not president yet Mrs Clinton!!
