seemed to me that she had more time every time she spoke, including rebuttal time..and Spencer was rushed a lot...not too fair

Hillary's 1st Senate run was a shoe-in. If Minnie Mouse was a Dem, she could have won. It's not like she ran in a traditional Repub state.

Remember two things:

1. If she wasn't married to Bubba, we'd all be saying "Hillary who??"

2. The smartest woman in the world was outsmarted by a 21 year old intern with a spotted blue dress.

The debate was in Rochester......which is oh, sooooo Dem. I'm sure the audience was invitation only. It's my hometown and I watched it turn over a period of 50 years to a welfare state.

How I wish that there were 200 women sitting in the audience dressed in blue dresses and berets.

She had nothing to lose in the debate. Its' broadcasting was so limited, it's like it never happened.

After hearing about Obama all week, I wouldn't be surprised if she asked him to be VP. That would give her the speaker and charisma she needs so badly. She can be "busy" in the Senate with Obama doing the stumping.

The moderator rattled off a long list of stations or networks which were going to cover the debate (I don't think he included C-SPAN). I don't know what percentage of the voters were able to watch it but I would suspect most of them could.

On one level Obama is the obvious person for Hillary to pick, but I wonder...maybe it would be piling on a bit much. As of the convention in summer 2008 he will have held national office for three and a half years, with little to show for it, and the ticket would consist of two senators (that worked in 1960 but usually having a senator as the nominee for President is bad enough). Obama's main qualification for being on the ticket would be having DNA from an African father.

Plus Illinois is a safe state for the 'Rats and they can't drive up their percentage of the black vote much higher than it already is, so either a Hispanic male (Bill Richardson?) or a white male governor of a closely-divided state might be more helpful.

"In the middle of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln did not hesitate to change generals."

Sorry, Hitlery, your grasp of history is flawed, big time! (what else is new?). Lincold did more than hesitate for a long time before he got rid of that idiot Gen.McClelland who was extremely popular with the troops but refused to fight when he had the men, the opportunity and the arms to do so.

My thoughts:

As a conservative living in NYC (which I love, by the way) I fail to see what anyone sees in Hillary, except in her confident smugness at assuming she's the cat's meow and people should just vote for her. A lot of people are stupid or intellectually lazy they just vote for Whoever.

To conservatives everywhere: NYC is not like it once was. It is getting better and better, and is a fantastic place to learn life-survival skills. Truly, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. I have learned this from long, hard experience over the last seven years.

MOVE HERE! Opportunities are ripe for the picking, and you can OWN THIS TOWN so easily! Even with only a slightly enlarged Republican minority, we can do wonders for this city and for the nation just by being salt and light.

And just look at who your competition will be!

And please, no attacks on my town -- I was here on 9-11 and don't take kindly to attacks of any kind on this great city.

Yes, but word will get out to a few people that she didn't do well. Knowledgeable people in both parties saw, or will hear, that she didn't do well. And that will encourage a few Republicans and disappoint a few Democrats. In politics, every little bit counts. You never know when such things will end up having an impact. Obviously the Shrew will win this year, and she'll win by a big margin. But a bad debate performance could, if nothing else, impact her presidential race later by impacting how some of the insiders see her.

Here's a third and a fourth: The smartest woman in the world failed the DC Bar Exam and had to move to Arkansas to practice Law. The SWITW™ was rejected by MENSA.

Without her HINO, people would be asking " Hillary who?"

I haven't paid much attention to Obama, but what Verginius Rufus in post #147 seems reasonable to me. Also, the prevailing wisdom is that the selection of VP is rarely a deciding factor in a presidential election.

I suspect he knows who was behind the toe sucking expose. A grudge? Probably.
