After hearing about Obama all week, I wouldn't be surprised if she asked him to be VP. That would give her the speaker and charisma she needs so badly. She can be "busy" in the Senate with Obama doing the stumping.

On one level Obama is the obvious person for Hillary to pick, but I wonder...maybe it would be piling on a bit much. As of the convention in summer 2008 he will have held national office for three and a half years, with little to show for it, and the ticket would consist of two senators (that worked in 1960 but usually having a senator as the nominee for President is bad enough). Obama's main qualification for being on the ticket would be having DNA from an African father.

Plus Illinois is a safe state for the 'Rats and they can't drive up their percentage of the black vote much higher than it already is, so either a Hispanic male (Bill Richardson?) or a white male governor of a closely-divided state might be more helpful.

I haven't paid much attention to Obama, but what Verginius Rufus in post #147 seems reasonable to me. Also, the prevailing wisdom is that the selection of VP is rarely a deciding factor in a presidential election.
