Sunday, October 8, 2006
It's hard to be a man; hard to live up to the demands that come with the dominant conception of masculinity, of the tough guy.

Holy moley, Victoria -- this has to be one of the best posts I've ever seen on FreeRepublic!
I don't necessary consider masculine men to be calendar boys with a massive body structure. They are usually gays and they totally turn me off.
LOL!!!

Bush would kick Kerry's ass on a Mountain Bike.
The November 2005 issue of "Mountain Bike" magazine has an article where some of the writers/editors of that mag went mountain biking with Bush.
Resting heart rate in the 50's. He smoked' em.
Cheers!

You can say that again, lol. I think so, too.
Well, after reading Jensen's article, it just came easily.

Well said! Kudos and thanks for posting these insightful thoughts! I think way too many people are just very unsure of what they want to be in life, and what they want out of life.
One one hand, we have more than ever people saying how strong their self esteem is and how independent they are, and on the other hand we have more people than ever clearly in unhappy situations with their love lives. So much for many folks 'knowing what they want.'
I think being basically honest and realistic with yourself is essential to any kind of fulfillment in life. You have clarity on this issue and that is very rare. Congrats! :-)

Thunderous Applause!
Full Disclosure: can you name a male leading actor of yesteryear who sets your heart aflame (or would, if he were that age today...)?
Cheers!

Even for a guy that's just nasty. So much muscle that the range of motion is crippled ? Too much.

Yes, I read your Plummer/Bogart... I was kinda hoping for your take on Sean Connery and/or Cary Grant :-)
Cheers!

Personally, I blame the hippies (Why not? It isn't as though they are going to stand-up and fight the accusation). All those dudes wearing their hair like women and getting "in touch with mother nature".

Thanks much for your comments.
Yeah, and Roger Moore, I think he was great, too.
