North Korea with Nukes? Iran with Nukes? Is this a good time to have Democrats in Power?

I'm sorry folks, but with the ongoing war in the Middle East and the terrorist states North Korea and Iran threatening to hold the world hostage with nukes, how can any person claiming to be conservative (or even American for that matter) even possibly consider sitting out or voting third party in the coming election?

The world is simply too dangerous a place to allow the cowardly, America hating Democrats to control the congress. We finally have a president with the gonads to act against the terrorists when necessary after eight years of Clinton's weakness and inaction and we need a congress that will not pull the plug on him or our military. This is not a time for conservatives to go wobbly on national defense. The Democrats would be a disaster for America and for the world.

We do indeed live in interesting times.

Responsible conservatives Americans should do their utmost to prevent a cut and run Democrat takeover next month.

Aw, Jim... You know that I'd much rather see our world in a real war--not like the first two wimpy world wars. I'll get what I want (nukefest!), if we put defense off a few more years.

But I'll go ahead and vote another straight Republican ticket, anyway, just to please you pacifists.

Jim, I'm unapologetically angry. I'm most angry with the rubbish making the airwaves now as it could undermine the campaign of Tom McClintock for Lt. Governor here in California. I'm also upset the Republican Party does not have an internal party organ to keep track of their own office holders and candidates. If anyone could gain traction from exposing wrongdoings by Republicans it is the Republican Party if they tackle them first.

You know I am not a registered Republican. That said, I usually vote for Republican candidates, can't recall if I've ever voted for a Democrat, and don't see any promise in third parties because their platforms are too porous, or based on too few issues. I also never miss an opportunity to cast my vote. If I'm dissatisfied with candidates to an office I won't pick the lesser of two evils, but vote for none.

The only advantage I can see if the Democrats did win control of Congress, or either house, is that President Bush might learn how veto bills, and the Democrats wouldn't have the necessary votes to override such vetoes. If Republicans retain control, I hope they exercise constraint in spending the money of future generations of Americans.

I'd feel a whole lot better about Republican leadership too if the President would drop the Pakistan/Musharraf ally line and start fighting our enemy where they reside and multiply. Killing or capturing bin Laden would send an extremely powerful message to his type everywhere. In my eyes having bin Laden restricted to an area of Pakistan is no different than having Charles Manson locked away in the cell of a prison. Justice has not been served.

I will be voting, and that means voting for Republican candidates or skipping a particular race entirely (although I see no races at this time in that latter group this year). I'll wish the Republican candidates well as they come closest to conservative doctrines.

Holding my nose and voting straight R in Ohio...

Me too. The thought of Senator Brown and Congresswoman Kilroy scares the crap out of me.

Roger that. If they get a taste of power we'll be talking about a nuclear Venezueal in 8 years from now. Clintoon is like a bad case of herpes...the gift that keeps giving. (Not speaking from experience.)

The Clinton administration responsible for the mess we are in today.

They are the ones who gave North Korea the ingredients for making a nuclear weapon, supposedly to be used for "peaceful purposes," such as providing electricity to their impoverished people.

The North Korean people are still without electrical power, but now they have a nuclear weapon.

Clinton's legacy.

"All kidding aside .... Anyone who would vote Democrat now is either an idiot or a traitor .. IMHO"

Sitting home or voting third party has the same effect as a vote for the DemocRAT party. There are only two viable political parties, and in only one of them do we have a voice.

In addition to voting ourselves, we must help mobilize the GOP base voters if we are going to hold the House and Senate.....

Yes, Jim....this is a very critical election!

A Dem win will result in two years of gridlock on illegal immigration; continual calls for Impeachment of GWB; softer approach on the War on Terror; less aggressive protection of our homeland from terrorism; no more conservative judges appointed; Pelosi third in line for the presidency and more taxes because the Bush tax cuts will not be extended.

I urge all FReepers to volunteer (like me) at their local GOP HQ this week to make calls, distribute signs, walk with candidates, etc. (or whatever you can do).....

TIME magazine reported recently: ''Democrats remain worried that the GOP will outperform them at getting voters to the polls, much as the Republican turnout operation helped defy the oddsmakers in 2004.''
(TIME, 9/26/06)

They're right to be worried! TIME also called the Republican grassroots turnout programs our ''secret weapon.''

Our volunteer army WILL make the difference in this election if everyone works hard between now and 11/7.

In these dangerous times..... we simply cannot trust our security to the Do Nothing Dems!

I'm sure this has been said, but hell no! There is never a good time to have a democrat in office.

When the Congressional Dims defunded the VN war effort in 1973, VN had about 55 million citizens (that's an estimate). Three million of them +/- one million were killed by the North because they were judged to be collaborators. The Dims didn't care, in fact, John F'in Kerry assured a compliant congress that there would be no retributions.

Iraq is about 27 million. If Iraq is like VN in terms of enemy retribution, we can anticipate about 1.5 million +/- 500 thousand Iraqi's will be exterminated if the fearless Dims gain control of the House and succeed in defunding the effort in Iraq...which they have already promised to do!!!

Those 1.5 million lives ride on YOU showing up to vote on election day!!! Spread THAT word!!!

If this don't scare folks into action, I don't know what will.

And, it isn't just national security, it's taxes, spending, and the rest of the million other things that will be at risk under RAT control.

Pelosi and Rangel and Hoyer and the rest of the Dems have already made it clear that the Bush tax cuts are toast, under their (mis)leadership.
