If this is true Allen's in great shape. It means the race hasn't changed in the last six weeks or so. However, there is a rumor of a Mason Dixon poll coming out with the race tied and a lot of undecideds. That wouldn't be so great. The national libs still haven't kicked in any money for Webb. If they don't, Allen will get to pound Webb into the ground regardless of what the polls say today. Supposedly the Dems has had to move money earmarked for Virginia to shore up their crook incumbent in NJ.

The rumors about the Mason-Dixon poll are true.

Ok, the rumors are true but something is screwy with the Mason Dixon poll. I simply don't believe Bush only has a 42% approval in Virginia like this poll shows. That goes against everything I've seen previously. Plus there are way too many undecideds. After all the junk they've thrown at Allen this poll claims six or seven percent are now undecided and Webb got no extra support. That makes no sense.

Survey USA has President Bush at 41 percent approval in Virginia this month in their tracking polls.

The high undecideds actually make sense to me. The Rat accusations against Allen don't make Virginians want to vote for Webb necessarily, but they are making people look at Allen twice.

Good point. Some other polls have Bush at 46-47. Nationally he's at about 41 and Virginia is a bit more conservative than the nation as a whole. This Mason Dixon is also sponsored by MSNBC and McClatchy. I wouldn't trust those guys to tell me the truth about what time of day it was. Rasmussen will have something out soon and we'll see more then.

Good for Allen. I have thought the vicious attacks by the Democrats would fail!

' Matthews will spend all next week on Allen. He' ll get that old woman who vouched for the forged, Bush memo's to say that she saw him in black-face at a KKK fund-raiser."

Matthews has already done his Allen /wink wink Nazi KKK show.
Here's my summation of the Sept 26 show as posted that night.

" Ed Gillespie was on and no matter how many times or in how many different ways,
Gillespie would say- Allen never intended a racial slur or knew the word had negative connotations-
Matthews would continue to badger him over and over and over as to why Allen routinely uses racial epithets.
Matthews was one step away from accusing Allen of burning crosses and hanging blacks.
And of course, Matthews slimed the 83 yr old Mrs Allen as basically being a Grand Dragon sewing white hoods in her spare time."

New mason-dixon is even at 43 -- interesting thing is Webb never goes up, it's just allen moving up and down.

Survey USA did this extra 2 day because their previous 3 das they said were too volitile on a day-to-day basis with the news coming out.

This is a 2-day survey taken AFTER most of the n-word stuff for allen, but ending before the story about Webb.

It's beginning to look like the half of the people who voted for Allen for governor, and voted for Allen as senator, have decided they don't believe or don't care about what he did 30 years ago. Could even be a little of the "I'm not going to say I was wrong before" syndrome.

This is still a tough race, and I was hoping I'd have a breather or be able to help out in other races.

This poll was also done before the stuff about Webb.

Also, Webb just started a very small Ad buy attacking Allen and Bush for the war -- which I can't think will help him since the ONE THING everybody knows that Webb is against the war already, and Allen was for the war and with Bush.

Allen just started his first major buy, 3 different ads, 640 thousand a week, and he has enough money to run this every week for the remainder. The commercials look really good as well.

If Webb couldn't get ahead of Allen with all the n-word stuff, I'm not sure he can overcome the money onslaught.

And I don't think the dems are sending money here if they need it in NJersey.

"That's good news. He had really scared the macaca out of me with some of his PR goofs!"

While he certainly could have handled some things better, I think his real problem is that he is in everyone's crosshairs. McCain isn't going to fly, Condi's gone, Frisk needs to stick to stitching people up. We are already getting down to Giulani, Romney or Allen and of the three only Allen is conservative and NOT a Northeasterner AND has a nice family. So not only are the Dems trying to scuttle Allen early, but a lot of Repubs as well.

While Allen might not be a superstar, he may well be the last man standing given the problems with the other candidates.

On a random note, i was podcasting rush, and earlier this week rush called Allen the only reagan conservative by leaps and bounds in the race and nobody even comes close. He said something to the extent of, i suppose romney would come in second after pausing for a bit.

I think his real problem is that he is in everyone's crosshairs.

You got that right. Allen's #1 problem is The Washington Post. #2 The NY Slimes. #3. The three political parties: ABC, CBS, NBC.

I predict the Post Politburo will "enthustiastically endorse" Jim Webb on or about Oct. 15.

Here is why Allen faell from 10+ down to the single digits:

The Meccaca incident caused Allen's black support to fall from 20-25% to 5%. I dont think White support has changed.

Thus Webb has probably peaked and cannot rise further in the polls.

It also shows that almost 1/4 of Black voters are so fed up with the DEMS that they will consider voting GOP. The only way they will vote DEM is if the race becomes racially tinged and inflamed. In the long run the DEMs lose either way.

Allen will do a statewide 2-minute address on Monday, billed as his attempt to get the Senate campaign back to talking about issues.

On Monday evening, Senator Allen will be giving a major address to Virginians on statewide television. This two-minute talk will be a defining moment in this campaign. In the days to come, you will hear Senator Allen, Susan Allen and thousands of concerned Virginians reminding Virginia voters of what is important in deciding their vote:

Because this statewide address will mark a turning point in the campaign, it is important that as many people as possible tune in to see it. Please forward this e-mail message to your own lists, whether political or personal. Please contact as many supporters, friends and even undecided voters as you can between now and Monday evening. Urge them to tune in and listen as Senator Allen speaks directly to Virginians about what really matters in this campaign.

Here are the stations and approximate viewing times tomorrow evening:

NOVA: WRC-TV 7:58pm
RICHMOND: WRIC-TV 7:58pm
ROANOKE: WDBJ-TV 7:58pm
NORFOLK: WAVY-TV 7:58pm
