A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Bill Clinton: At least I tried and I failed

by JohnHuang2

The truth is, I tried to make this essay about the leaked N.I.E. report, but I failed. Do I think I did enough? No, because I failed. But at least I tried.
The sad thing is that Clinton tried and tried and tried during his eight years to keep his pants on and failed. "But at least I tried . . . I tried and I failed . . . I regret it. But I did try. And I did everything I thought I responsibly could." But I failed. So, Ken Starr got away.
As FNC reports, last week Clinton hosted the second of the humbly titled Clinton Global Initiative Forum in New York, where big bucks were "pledged to tackle some of the worst problems in developing countries, such as poverty, disease," climate change and deranged leaders who think Bush is the Devil causing the poverty, disease and climate change. "As part of the conference," Clinton blew up on Fox News Sunday. Why the disproportionate response? The whole issue of 9/11 is a touchy subject for Clinton. Easy to see why. Most of the planning took place on his watch. In fact, as ABC's docudrama shows, it took years and years for 9/11 to get planned, prepared and organized by Karl Rove and Dick Cheney. Oops, hold on. I guess the "9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!!!!!!!!" meme wasn't getting traction because Democrats are back to 9/11 as an al-Qaeda solo gig, with little if any involvement by the White House. Rove's too busy causing tsunamis, hurricanes, etc.
Clinton told Chris Wallace that America "never had a comprehensive anti-terror operation until I came there," and failed. According to media libbies, the N.I.E. report proves America is less safe today than we were on 9/11. And under Bill Clinton. Now Muslims really don't like us anymore. They want to blow themselves up because of Iraq. So, invading Iraq was a mistake because, as you can see from the London bombing, the Madrid bombing, etc., Iraq is a 'Cause Celebre' for terrorists and isn't part of the War on Terror. Always a mistake to invade a Muslim country -- stirs Muslim resentment. When attacked by Muslims, find a Christian country to invade, like Afghanistan. Pausing during Ramadan, of course. If we weren't in Iraq, al-Qaeda would be playing tennis.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's the blissful world during the decade before Bush invaded Iraq:
-- In February, 1993, on Clinton's watch, the World Trade Center is bombed for the first time. (Must've been Phase I of the Bush/Cheney "Inside Job.") More than a thousand people are injured and 6 people are killed in the bombing. The truck bomb leaves a crater six stories deep. In response, Clinton goes after the White House Travel Office and the Branch Davidians in Waco.
-- Two months later, Iraq's intelligence service tried to assassinate Bush (41) while he was visiting Kuwait, but the Iraqis were nabbed at the scene just in time by Kuwaiti security forces. Two months later, in June, Clinton retaliates by launching a missile attack against the night janitor in an otherwise empty building in order to pry Travelgate off the front pages.
-- Four months later, in Somalia's capital of Mogadishu, al-Qaeda terrorists ambush American forces, who were there on a humanitarian mission. Eighty Americans were injured, 18 were killed. The terrorists dragged the body of one U.S. soldier through the streets of Mogadishu. Clinton retaliates by bugging out, then launching an assault on Kathleen Willey.
-- In 1995, a U.S. military facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, gets bombed, killing 5 Americans. But, to be fair, Clinton tried to preempt this attack many months earlier by rounding up 1,000 FBI files on Republicans and invading Haiti.
-- In early 1996, Sudan, wanting terrorism sanctions removed, offered the Clinton administration Osama's arrest and extradition, and loads of jihadi intel about global networks. Citing insufficient evidence against Osama, the terror-hunter refuses Sudan's offer -- though, a few years later, Clinton did capture and bring to justice Sudan's aspirin factory.
(A leaked N.I.E. report at the time warned that nabbing aspirin factories only emboldens aspirin factories everywhere. You end up with more aspirin factories, deeply resentful.)
-- A few months later, the Marine barracks in Saudi Arabia's Khobar Towers get bombed, killing 19 U.S. service personnel. Months later, Clinton took vigorous action in the Oval Office with Monica Lewinsky.
-- In February, 1998, Osama bin Laden decides we just can't get along, so he issues a Fatwa against all Americans, saying "the ruling to kill Americans and their allies -- civilian and military -- is an individual duty for every Muslim . . ." Osama cited the "continuing American aggression against the Iraqi people" as among the reasons all Americans should die. Just one month later, Clinton responds by going to Uganda to apologize for slavery. (In fairness, DOJ did indict Osama that November for his Fatwa -- though Clinton stopped short of deploying the ultimate weapon against Osama: A restraining order.)
-- In August, 1998, al-Qaeda blows up American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing more than 200 people. Clinton finally decides to get tough -- ordering cruise missile attacks against high-value targets in Afghanistan, consisting of a few empty tents. And that aspirin factory in Sudan. Anyway, feeling that the embassy attacks were not fully avenged, Clinton invades Kosovo and Serbia.
-- in October, 2000, al-Qaeda blows a hole into the USS Cole in Yemen, killing 17 U.S. sailors, injuring 33. Clinton to Chris Wallace: "I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked, 'Why didn't you do anything about the Cole'" that happened on my watch? Clinton says his hands were tied because the CIA and FBI couldn't "certify that bin Laden was responsible," rather than, say, alien beings from Pluto.
-- On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda destroys the World Trade Center and the western wall of the Pentagon. Hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashes in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after a passenger revolt. Almost 3,000 Americans are killed. We were so much safer back then.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Right after 9/11, President George W. Bush responds by putting America on offense, taking down the Taliban and later, Saddam Hussein. Bush's "failed policy" has led to no terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. The jihadi boys are too busy in Iraq and Afghanistan trying to keep the Great Satan from winning, which keeps them from doing any bombs-for-virgins tricks here. Better that they blow themselves up there than here. If you're al-Qaeda and the worldwide Caliphate is your bag, it's the reverse -- 'better to blow yourself up in Manhattan than here in Baghdad.' Bush's blundering "mistakes" have kept al-Qaeda from going on offense and attacking we U.S. infidels where we live and breed and work.

The jihadi boys are trying to get America to cry Uncle Allah in Iraq and Afghanistan for that reason, else no worldwide Caliphate. Clinton never understood this -- that you don't win wars against al-Qaeda by hiring more nurses and checking containers. If it's war, you go on offense and treat it as war. Given a choice between a president who'll file an indictment, versus a President who'll drop a 500-pound greeting on al-Qaeda, voters go for the warmonger over the courtmonger every time. That's why, if you're a Democrat, it'll be back to the drawing board in about 6 weeks.
Anyway, that's...
My two cents

Hey JohnHuang2, perhaps next Thursday you could do something on the criticism of "doing nothing" and the cry to 'do something' in Darfur...
Worldwide protests violence in Darfur
Tens of thousands of people rallied in cities across the world Sunday to protest the violence in the war-torn Darfur region of Sudan, and urge world leaders to intervene to resolve the conflict.
Tens of thousands of people demonstrated in New York City, religious leaders gathered outside Downing Street in London to pray for a resolution, and a candlelight vigil was held in Cambodia to remember Darfur victims.

Some info for you that might help...
What's UN Peacekeeping Doing in Darfur and Lebanon? September 22, 2006
Unfortunately, there’s still one big hitch -- the government of Sudan opposes the introduction of a peacekeeping force to Darfur. This may sound like a trivial matter in the face of the overwhelming military might of the rest of the world and stern global pronouncements against the tragedy in Darfur. But sending a multinational force into Darfur under these conditions would be asking us to "shoot our way in", and who would supply the forces we'd need? This would resemble war fighting not Peacekeeping and that's not what we do. Without at least the consent of the Sudanese government, it would be nearly impossible for the UN to place or even maintain a force in Darfur, much less a successful one.
Do I need an /sarcasm?

Good Morning Dutchess and John.

Thank you Dutchess for posting John's essay.

John you really out did yourself with this awesome essay.

There are really some people out there believing that President Bush,VP Dick Cheyney,Carl Rove and so on have organized the attacks of 911.

I happened to watch Hanity and Colmes last night and they had this leftist Professor from the University of Minnesota on,that said those kind of things.He claimed that the attack on the twin towers wasn't an attack ,but a controlled implosion.In other words a demolition of the twin towers.

It was bizarre to actually hear someone say this nonsense on TV.

Have you seen the latest political add about Darfur?

It makes me sick,that the add blames our President for the things that go on there.

The Power Of Sin

READ: Romans 7:14-25

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us. —Hebrews 12:1

I was having lunch with a pastor-friend when the discussion sadly turned to a mutual friend in ministry who had failed morally. As we grieved together over this fallen comrade, now out of ministry, I wondered aloud, “I know anyone can be tempted and anyone can stumble, but he’s a smart guy. How could he think he could get away with it?” Without blinking, my friend responded, “Sin makes us stupid.” It was an abrupt statement intended to get my attention, and it worked.

I have often thought of that statement in the ensuing years, and I continue to affirm the wisdom of those words. How else can you explain the actions of King David, the man after God’s own heart turned adulterer and murderer? Or the reckless choices of Samson? Or the public denials of Christ by Peter, the most public of Jesus’ disciples? We are flawed people who are vulnerable to temptation and to the foolishness of mind that can rationalize and justify almost any course of action if we try hard enough.

If we are to have a measure of victory over the power of sin, it will come only as we lean on the strength and wisdom of Christ (Rom. 7:24-25). As His grace strengthens our hearts and minds, we can overcome our own worst inclination to make foolish choices. Bill Crowder

The price of sin is very high
Though now it may seem low;
And if we let it go unchecked,
Its crippling power will grow.  —Fitzhugh

God’s Spirit is your power source—don’t let sin break the connection.

Great thread. He's done so much damage to this nation and it's always about him. May I see the day truth is known to all about that administration and the Clintons.

That said, I did get a kick out of seeing him get unhinged and red in the face. Fighting for his legacy. The man who plays a smooth slick charming talker showed some of his true colors for all to see that day. Chris Wallace just sat there in amazement. LOL
