The Fox News Channel shakes up its anchor roster a little today, with former WABC/ Ch. 7 correspondent E.D. Hill moving from "Fox & Friends" to the network's "Fox Live" anchor team.
Former CBS News anchor Gretchen Carlson will take Hill's place as a co-host of the freewheeling morning show.
"Gretchen's warm personality and dynamic energy are a perfect fit for 'Fox & Friends,'" Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement.
Also starting today on FNC is "Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" at 1 p.m., replacing "Dayside," and a full hour of news with Jane Skinner at 2 p.m.
I totally agree. Gretchen is plastic. I turned her off the other day when she interviewed a girl who won a spelling contest. Gretchen brought up the fact that the girl met with the president and the girl commented about what an honor that was. Then Gretchen asked if she asked the president if he could spell. The girl said no very simply with no expression and Gretchen said "You decided not to go there, huh?" and laughed a very odd fake laugh. It was so out of place, not even funny or appropriate. She will have to have a humor implant if she succeeds with Brian and Steve.
Falkner is gorgeous. And smart, too.
She deserves to be promoted to one of the primetime shows.
I miss the show ONE day and this happens??? I'm aghast! Why take the grounding, sensible, and practical one away? Nobody else will be able to keep Steve and Brian under control! They'll be like the kids in third grade with the substitute teacher. Should we start a pool for when the first spitball gets blown?
Juliet got me to stop watching on weekends until she left. I used to like her but the more I saw, the more sorority girl I saw and it got very old.
I don't know about her. If she is the new dark hair woman it seems she is a bit foundation makeup heavy.
She has that irrelevant woman lawyer look and feel about her.
I would take ED Hill over her.
If the news reader women are eyecandy that is fine but it is ALWAYS secondary to the story and minimizing the spin.
When you say the "Fox Channel" just where is that? Are you referring to a local Fox station? Or am I missing out on a channel I never knew existed?
I used to watch Linda Vester when I could on Dayside...where did she disappear to?
I find myself listening to c-span in the morning more and more.
You have a lot of seminar "I-was-a-republican-but-now-I-will-never-vote-for-ReaganRepublicans-again-because-the-will-not-tax-the-rich[or other issue]"
Never got that impression...
Does anyone really want to watch news delivered by thier mom?
End of an era. Those three had the best chemistry, and IMO the best morning show on TV.
The group clicked like SEINFELD... w/o ED... Oh well, we'll see.
But I am one of those who warns, don't put all you eggs in fox. One of these days they may decide to change the "format" from sort of center to the left as well... and we better be prepared.
I agree, I am not a big fan but I did like the fact she was not another face foundation bimbo.
i really do think she just wanted to be home with her kids in the AM to get them off to school. much better to be on laterm when they are in school anyway. she paid her dues and seems like she should be able to do what is better for her family. she strikes me as a very hands-on mom and not one that is handing stuff off to a nanny. i think she's very down to earth.
"I'm beginning to think Fox has lost it's way."
To me, and this is just me, but I think the term, "Fair and Balanced" would logically mean to have biases on both sides.
But that's just me. Are you afraid to hear other slants?
"E.D. Hill never made a smart statement on her own, she had to read it on the laptop in front of her, or repeat what was told to her in her headset/earpiece. It's obvious she is in over her head on serious news stories."
On more than one occasion I have seen her tackle a dem on serious issues with analysis and reason that couldn't have been passed by computer OR earphone. She ripped the bozos a new one.
She is the sharpest of the F&F crew.
One of the few things I miss about cable. E.D. was always fun to watch in the mornings.
I agree with you. E.D. does not seem like the brightest bulb in the pack. In fact, she did seem frequently lost.
Also, she isn't aging well. Much better eye candy available on Fox than E.D.
