The Fox News Channel shakes up its anchor roster a little today, with former WABC/ Ch. 7 correspondent E.D. Hill moving from "Fox & Friends" to the network's "Fox Live" anchor team.
Former CBS News anchor Gretchen Carlson will take Hill's place as a co-host of the freewheeling morning show.
"Gretchen's warm personality and dynamic energy are a perfect fit for 'Fox & Friends,'" Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement.
Also starting today on FNC is "Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" at 1 p.m., replacing "Dayside," and a full hour of news with Jane Skinner at 2 p.m.
I wondered what was up when Steve welcomed Gretchen Carlson to the show. I don't have anything against Gretchen, but I will miss E.D. She helped lighten up the mornings.
I figured the early morning show was tough for ED with all her kids.
I like ED Hill.

I wonder where Mike and Juliet are going?
Dayside is going to the Fox channel as an afternoon "talk show".
.....I wonder where Mike and Juliet are going?......
I've been wondering about the whereabouts of F&F's Louis Aguilere, one of the original hosts, for years but still don't know what happened to him..
I did not know that. Thanks for the info.

Ack! I LOVE E.D.!!!! I agree with you 100% and would like to ad that she was a pit-bull in interviews where someone was trying to dodge a question! She's great, and I'm terribly upset that Fox would break up such a great team. I really love the chemistry between those three.

My thought exactly.
Good for her - and good for Fox.
I don't like it........not one bit! I love Steve and Brian and ED TOGETHER. They bring out the best in each other and that's why I watch. No offense to Gretchen and maybe ED took a step up but like the old saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I hate to say it but I hope the outcry will make Fox see what I consider a BIG mistake. (Putting soap box away........for now). :)
E.D. Hill was a good balance for her two male loons.
Gretchen Carlson is dry toast compared to E.D. - I don't think she will survive in this spot - they need more personality.
My opinion
My 80+ Mom liked Dayside. Now she'll probably go back to watching Soap Operas. :(
I do agree with DB -- if ED needed a schedule that let her be home with her kids in the mornings, I'd understand completely. She didn't start until 7:00AM ET many days and sometimes she wasn't there. She's got a big family and I can't imagine how she does it all. I hope the suits at Fox tried their best to accomodate her.
Mornings aren't going to be the same without ED. Those three had great chemistry. I *will* watch her in the afternoons, though, and I hope she finds a lot of success later in the day, too.

I have recently discovered Cavuto. It is the best show they do. I also love the exotic looks of Harris Falkner. They should monitor the repetiveness in their evening line up.
Gretchen was a former Miss Minnesota and Miss America from 1989 and a Republican unlike Liberal E.D
Be nice to Gretchen. She is from Minnesota.
I like E.D.
I think she is of the old Southern Democrat politics; she seems to lean toward the conservative rather than the liberal.
There were times she was about the only one who would cut into some of the stunts some Dems did. She has been the loudest morning voice on some of the idiocies coming out of Washington -- such as open borders.
She is sort of like Brian Kilmeade. They can both present a good, solid rant at times. And both can cut the legs out from under a 'guest' who tries to stick to the daily talkingpoints.
I would like to see more of Hill and Kilmeade unleased on some of the politicians and talkingpoints pundits -- of both parties.
