The percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington has risen from almost a third to almost half over the past four years, a CNN poll released Monday found.
Asked whether they blame the Bush administration for the attacks, 45 percent said either a "great deal" or a "moderate amount," up from 32 percent in a June 2002 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.
But the Clinton administration did not get off lightly either. The latest poll, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, found that 41 percent of respondents blamed his administration a "great deal" or a "moderate amount" for the attacks.
That's only slightly less than the 45 percent who blamed his administration in a poll carried out less than a week after the attacks.
Still, most Americans appear to be fatalistic, with more than half -- 57 percent -- saying they think that terrorists will "always find a way to launch attacks no matter what the U.S. government does."
The poll was carried out August 30 through September 2 by Opinion Research Corp. with 1,004 American adults questioned by telephone. The sampling error for the questions was 3%

I'm glad the survivors you know are doing as well as they are. I think of the valor during Flt. 93 quite regularly and I am struck with the pride in that heroism. They saved many lives, I'm sure of that. They knew about the WTC already and they were determined to foil Part 3 of the plan.

In fairness, the guys I knew were all in Finance, and were pretty set before hand. I worry a lot more about the fireMEN (They were all MEN, dammit, not PC "fighters") and cops. And, yeah, I'm sure none of the guys on 93 were setting the world on fire (excuse the metaphor). Then, of course there were busboys and waiters in Windows On The World. But, still, it was mostly finance people. Cantor alone lost 658 of them. Which probably goes a long way to explaining Lutnik's alligator arms.

I don't believe that 45% of the US population have actually lost their minds. I would say that somewhere between 5-10% of the population are suffering from severe BDS, but not 45%.I think you're right. These wack polls can be explained by two things:
1. Almost nobody answers a land-line, home phone anymore -- and of those few who do, many are unrepresentative of the general public.
2. Pollsters are free to commit fraud most of the time. The only time liberal media pollsters feel constrained to be accurate, out of concern for their own credibility, is in the period immediately preceding an election.

A big question I have: who insures the insurers? Chubb? How much did those claims impact the industry?

I didn't know CNN still had 1,004 employees. And I seriously question if they qualify as adults. ROTFL... Good one!

Okay,so the news media (CNN) has been telling us how bad Bush has been for the last five years, then they take a poll to see if their propaganda has been working on the masses.

It seems like people have some very high expectations for the USG to insulate them from every and anything. No to simply follow the Constitution for the jobs that they so desperately wanted! Protect the country against ALL ENEMIES foreign and domestic! Clinton so royally screwed this pooch (among other things he was screwing) that it was in his job to stop this attack from happening. He ignored it and the world expected Bush to fix it.
However, Bush's blame is due to keeping all of Clinton crony's in their previous positions of power...and incompetentcy!

I didn't watch it but was surfing for the last three or four days, CNN has run a series on the Footsteps of Bin Laden. They have been glorifying him for almost a week around the clock.
It looks like a documentary but please, every single day? That's when it starts to look like propaganda.

The percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington has risen from almost a third to almost half over the past four years, a CNN poll released Monday found. And media whoredom is over joyed that their considerable efforts to canker this administration during war time have succeeded beyond their imagination. David Gregory must be absolutely beside himself, gloating, and Chris Matthews will probably create a hangover for the ages with his celebrating. At the alphabet networks' offices, they must be cutting cakes and having office congratulatory parties over their power. Sick leftist bastards ... Sharia will lop their heads off first, even when they try to swear allegiance to the demon allah.

Another POLL that stands HISTORY and LOGIC on it's head. Truth is meaningless to the MSM where George Bush is concerned.

The reinsurance industry. But also, they invest the premiums. Many of the best sell-side traders at the dealers leave to become buy-side traders at the insurance companies. The finance side of the business is often huge.

Well, DUH! How can anyone be surprised at the results of this poll. After five years of relentless pounding of the President, what would some feckless people begin to believe. The whole idea of the pounding was to plant seeds of doubt and distrust, which have now grown, flowered and borne fruit.
I sure hope a lot of them watched the ABC show last night. Edits notwithstanding, it was crystal clear that the Clinton administration dropped the ball in looking for these men, and in going after any terrorists in any meaningful way at all.
I sure hope they include in tonight's show, President Bush's quote about his response to the attacks, and how he would not send missles to destroy a $10 tent just to hit a camel in the a$$!
