The percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington has risen from almost a third to almost half over the past four years, a CNN poll released Monday found.
Asked whether they blame the Bush administration for the attacks, 45 percent said either a "great deal" or a "moderate amount," up from 32 percent in a June 2002 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.
But the Clinton administration did not get off lightly either. The latest poll, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, found that 41 percent of respondents blamed his administration a "great deal" or a "moderate amount" for the attacks.
That's only slightly less than the 45 percent who blamed his administration in a poll carried out less than a week after the attacks.
Still, most Americans appear to be fatalistic, with more than half -- 57 percent -- saying they think that terrorists will "always find a way to launch attacks no matter what the U.S. government does."
The poll was carried out August 30 through September 2 by Opinion Research Corp. with 1,004 American adults questioned by telephone. The sampling error for the questions was 3%

I would say that somewhere between 5-10% of the population are suffering from severe BDS, but not 45%.
Ah, yes. Bush's fault. :) Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. You keep pushin' that, MSM. You'll be even more confused come Election Night.
Heaven forbid we take ONE day off from the polls and political angle of this atrocity.
Meanwhile, if 45% of Americans feel that way then we don't need a new president, we need a new citizenry.
Me neither!
This is a CNN push poll for 9/11.
This is for the DNC base.
Remember if the democrats were in charge there would be no memorials. They would have said we need to move on and focus on our "european guilt".
Ten percent of the people believe Elvis will get the letter you mail to him.
Do you know what question was asked? How was it worded?
Show how ingnorant and hypnotized America has become. The 911 attacks are 99 percent Clintons fault. I really wish one of the Victims would sue Clinton for 911 and then let the S#*T hit the fan.
I heard an interview this morning with the husband of a wife lost at the Pentagon on 9/11. When asked who he blamed for the loss of his wife, he said the USG. The world has indeed gone mad. The terrorists get a pass. It seems like people have some very high expectations for the USG to insulate them from every and anything.
All of the specific polls are stupid. They merely capture the core 40%+ who hate Bush and answer polls in whatever way they think hurts him, plus the confused periphery.
CNN poll... MoveOn.org poll... no fuggin' diff.
I am afraid this confirms we may be back in a Sept 10th mindset in this country. These are the same idiots that are willing to give the House and the Senate to Rats and would seriously consider putting another Clinton in the White House. I am very afraid for the future of this country and my young children. What the hell is wrong with these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Polls like this really don't tell anyone, a single thing about the truth of a question. All this poll really demonstrates is the enormous power that propaganda has on the weak human mind and how many of those fragile minds exist in our society. Even if 100% thought it was Bush's fault, it doesn't change the facts. It is absolutely impossible in reality to blame either administration for the 911 attacks. Terrorists, specifically Al Qaeda on 9/11 are responsible and anyone that cannot understand that is mentally disturbed. |
Thanks for posting this news. I expect it should go higher after last night's showing of The Path to 9//11. He did something and right away. Bin Laden & Al Qaeda had declared war on the US long before September 11, where was Clinton?
Yeah, he must have been doing more than just gluing the W's back on White House computer keyboards!
major damage repair response to "The Path to 9/11"..a simple feeble attempt at smoothing over and redirecting blame.
Doogle (those who criticize your successes, often reveal their failures)
Well, I'm convinced.
I didn't know CNN still had 1,004 employees. And I seriously question if they qualify as adults.
Was there ever an option to Freep that poll?
