ABC Altering 9/11 Film After Clinton Officials Express Outrage

ABC is altering its upcoming miniseries "The Path to 9/11" in response to intense criticism from members of the Clinton administration that the two-part, made-for-TV film is filled with factual errors and lies, a network official reportedly said.

Three members of the administration — former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, former National Security Adviser Samuel R. Berger and Clinton aide Bruce Lindsey, who now heads the Clinton Foundation — said they sent letters to Walt Disney Company, parent of ABC, demanding that it re-edit or pull the five-hour film, scheduled for air Sunday and Monday nights without commercial interruption.

The Washington Post reported Friday that an ABC executive, who requested anonymity because the network is making only written comments, said small revisions have been underway for weeks.

I'm sure it's copyrighted. That would leave a whole bunch of folks very open to a lawsuit by Disney/ABC. If they *gave* away all those copies, they'd still be somewhat vulnerable, but not nearly so much.

It seems that ABC Entertainment commissioned this movie and paid $40 million for it. They would, therefore, own the rights to it, in all its forms and edits. They can do what they want with it.

I heard Rush say that he watched the start of the series on his plane and then restarted it and watched all 5 hours at home.

I have a picture of him sitting in a screening with 100-200 other people for 5 hours watching the tape.

That would be extremely nice....BUT most of the public is totally dependent on the mass media for their opinions, and the mass media will not air any exposes on Clinton's complete idiocy concerning terrorism, so most of the public won't show any interest either. But before jumping on the "I hate ABC" bandwagon, I want to remind some of my friends here on FR that when CBS came out with the Reagan movie starring none other than Mr Babs Streisand, we were infuriated and put pressure on CBS to cave thus they moved the BS they called a movie to Showtime.

The most important thing to remember is that there are uncut versions out there - Rush has all 5 hours - and we need to make sure those versions are WIDELY available. Perhaps some wealthy conservative could make an arrangment to make copies available to every public school, every public library, and every public official in the country, with copies available to the public at the cost of production and shipping.

5-6 years ago I would agree, not today.

Over 80% of households now have Internet access, while many don't use it for news, they use email and will get mail from others that do.

Just a few short years ago 60% of the population watched the 6 O'Clock news on the alphabet channels, now its 28%.
The others are watching cable news and Internet.
