Thank you for injecting some sanity into the analysis.

Awful lot of handringing for a safe-seat.

I drive a '94 Honda Prelude. Hopefully soon to be replaced by an environmentalist scaring V8 Mustang. I've already got the snakeskin boots to scare away the vegans!

This poll is worthless. I would bet you that this whole stupid Macaca thing won't add up to a hill of Macaca come November.

I've seen a LOT more campaign material for Webb than Allen. Webb has had people handing out stuff at the metro station.

Join the long list of people who think they would have done better, given the same exact intel, etc.

You and other arm-chair CICs remind me of a quote from Patton, "it is better to violently execute a plan now, then to wait and execute a perfect plan later"...or something like that.

Allen is a Senate Republican who has the guts to take a stand against amnesty and open borders.

LOL! Ever been to Westmoreland County Virginia (incidentally, where George Washington, Robert E. Lee and James Monroe were all born)? There are plenty of illegals picking everthing from grapes and berries to locks when no one's around. It is the same here in the western part of the state, the south around Emporia, as in the northern Virginia 'burbs where Allen's from...All Allen does is talk about immigration and obey the high-dollar lobbyists and corporate "Bushbotters" who own him and want all the cheap imported illegal labor they can buy.

Giuliani has a good chance at the nomination because he will raise the most money.

That tends to happen in Democratic circles.

This poll is as good as an MSNBC poll that says "Should be Bush be impeached" with 81% of the respondents saying yes. It's a lame Internet poll.

"but you go right ahead making assumptions if it gives you hope that Allen is somehow not in trouble."

I'm not staking a position either way, I'm just stunned at the attention fellow Freepers give to non-electoral polls.

There's no reason to freak about November at this point, but he really needed to be a shoe-in for re-election if he's going to go for the nomination in 2008. There have been one or two articles about Hillary being in some trouble but everyone knows she will win and she is perceived as a winner. Allen's perception, rightly or wrongly, is of this guy who made this racist comment and is now in trouble in the polls.

We are always talking about the MSM spreading BS that damages someone, and then some of us deny that the MSM has spread BS that damages someone. Looks like they've succeeded in this case, and the problem is that Allen has a relatively low profile compared to other potential candidates, so this is many people's first introduction to him on a national level, and it's a bad impression. That ain't good, and is potentially fatal, like it or not.

More George Patton quotes:

Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
The time to take counsel of your fears is before you make an important battle decision. That's the time to listen to every fear you can imagine! When you have collected all the facts and fears and made your decision, turn off all your fears and go ahead!
Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory.
Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.

...None of which the current resident of the W.H. has learned to do...

"Thank you for injecting some sanity into the analysis."

No problem.

The purpose of this thread was to attack Allen, which is also the work of DUmmies and other leftist.

Also, reacting to polls is futile, since they are generally the figment of someones imagination, and news for a slow news day.

You attacked Allen and Dubya on the same post, which is of course the work of DUmmies and other leftists.

I share your frustration on the way the war is being conducted, but then again, I don't know all of the facts and circumstances involved. I prefer to use nukes and be done with it, but then again, I'm just an engineer with no facts or other strategies in front of me.

I'm sure that 'your' method of fighting the war on terror would be working right now correct?

Zogby hasn't called an election accurately since '96.

It's a lame Internet poll.

They're not the same. Zogby does use some scientific methodology for selection in his Internet polls.

That ain't good, and is potentially fatal, like it or not.

So if Allen wins resoundingly in November, despite the media-driven "racist comment" circus, you and others perhaps not that familiar with him would not view that as a sign of his strength?
