A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

DEAR GOD FROM THE DOG
Dear God, When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?
Dear God, Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?
Dear God, If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?
Dear God, We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?
Dear God, More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.
Dear God, Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom if ever, smell one another?
Dear God, When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake a paw to get in?
Dear God, Why do my owners go to the bathroom in the best freshwater bowl in the house?
Dear God, Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?
Dear God, Let me give you a list of a few things I must remember to be a good dog :
I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it, or after they throw it up.
I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
The sofa is not a face towel; neither are Mom and Dad's laps.
The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
My head does not belong in the refrigerator.
I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.
I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.
Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is not an acceptable way of saying 'hello.'
I do not need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm lying under the coffee table.
I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house.
I will not throw up in the car.
I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt across the carpet.
The cat is not a squeaky toy; so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.
And finally...Dear God from the Cat
Dear God, in case I haven't said so....thanks for finding us such special homes on earth especially for those of us lucky to live with Freepers. Life is good! MEOW!!!!

Thank you for this Cute Thread, Dutchess! The Look in the Doggie's Eyes in the Sink as he Awaits his Bath Makes for the Sweetest Pic!
Thank you to Everyone for Uplifting my Day with Adorable Graphics! Dolly, I Love Seeing Cali in Pics, because of her Sweet Face!
Meg, a Rainstorm Came Through Here at the King's Ranch Last Evening, and our Lord's Majesty was On Display in the Beautiful Sky He Created, that was a Deep, Dark Blue Color. Some Lovely Shafts of Light Later Shone through the Dark Clouds, and I was Awestruck by that Lovely Sight!
My Birdbath hasn't Been as Popular Today as Usual, because of the Rain Yesterday that Refreshed the Birds and Squirrels. (Usually a Squirrel Soaks himself in the Bath throughout the Day, but Today they've just been Busily Foraging for Pecans.)
Hugs to All the Finest!

A lovely sight to behold! I would love to see some rain..beautiful rain!
I have squirrels here right around my saucer birdbaths and have not seen one take a soak! How cute!
Rain always slows the action on my patio (if memory serves me..We haven't had rain since July 4th)
..Last week the roofers chased everyone away while they were here..
I am almost out of the corn the squirrels have been eating so I have been putting out sunflower seeds just because I love to watch them.

Since I'm among FRiends, I probably can admit that the letter from cat made my eyes well up. My wife and I found a kitten beside the roadway about 12 years ago. He hadn't been hit, but the poor fella was in bad shape with ear mites, etc. The vet didn't think he'd make it.
Suffice it to say, the missus and I have been blessed with his presence all these years. I sometimes tell my wife that the cat, in his more strangely pensive moments, is sending Death Brain Waves out to the terrorists. So, yes, I do hope our cat loves his Freeper home!

What a sweet story about how you and the missus rescued your kitty. FredtheCat showed up at our doorstep as a baby 17 years ago and aside from being deaf does just fine. Yes, we do love our fuzzy friends.
