Welcome Finest Friends. JohnHuang2 has a much needed week off so we decided it was time for a little pet humor repeat of what our furry friends might say to God. Please feel free to share your furry friends stories, jokes OR the obligatory "show off your furry friend" pictures!!!! ENJOY!

DEAR GOD FROM THE DOG

Dear God, When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?

Dear God, Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?

Dear God, If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?

Dear God, We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?

Dear God, More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.

Dear God, Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom if ever, smell one another?

Dear God, When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake a paw to get in?

Dear God, Why do my owners go to the bathroom in the best freshwater bowl in the house?

Dear God, Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?

Dear God, Let me give you a list of a few things I must remember to be a good dog :

I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it, or after they throw it up.

I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.

The sofa is not a face towel; neither are Mom and Dad's laps.

The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.

My head does not belong in the refrigerator.

I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.

I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.

Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is not an acceptable way of saying 'hello.'

I do not need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm lying under the coffee table.

I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house.

I will not throw up in the car.

I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt across the carpet.

The cat is not a squeaky toy; so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.

And finally...Dear God from the Cat

Dear God, in case I haven't said so....thanks for finding us such special homes on earth especially for those of us lucky to live with Freepers. Life is good! MEOW!!!!

Remembered

All these . . . obtained a good testimony through faith. —Hebrews 11:39

After the South lost the US Civil War, John Wilkes Booth wanted to be remembered as its avenger against the North. Some scholars speculate that because he was an actor, Booth’s planned assassination of President Lincoln was, in his mind, his greatest “performance.”

Ironically, John Wilkes Booth’s place in history is that of a villain. He is remembered for taking the life of an unarmed Lincoln with a gunshot to the back of the head. In contrast, Abraham Lincoln is remembered as the president who preserved the Union, freed the slaves, and exhibited “malice toward none and charity for all” (Second Inaugural Address).

The redeemed sinners listed in Hebrews 11 are all remembered for one common virtue: “All these . . . obtained a good testimony through faith” (v.39). Long after their deaths, the record of their lives of faith and obedience still inspire us today.

Few of us will be recorded in history books after we leave this world. But all of us will leave behind memories with our families and friends. Those closest to us are watching our response to God through times of testing and blessing.

Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
