Amherst, NY (WBEN) - Federal agents raided a home in Amherst, and arrested three people they say are linked to an overseas terror cell.
The FBI raided a home on Shetland Drive over the weekend, and the three unidentified suspects were charged with raising and laundering money for the Tamil Tigers terror group in Sri Lanka. WBEN's Tom Puckett has more in the audio link above, including assurances from police that the local community was apparently not a target.

hmmm... I found this following up on some hidden quotes in this other thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1687992/posts
"Tuesday, hours after officials in the U.S. said they had arrested suspected rebel arms procurers in a surface-to-air missile sting"
"U.S. officials said overnight more than a dozen people were arrested on suspicion of procuring surface-to-air missiles and raising funds for the Tigers."
"Several people who had agreed to pay more than $900,000 for hundreds of AK-47 rifles and 50 to 100 Russian-made surface-to-air missiles were nabbed in a New York sting, according to U.S. court documents."

In NY State? Where's Hillary and Schumer? I guess they only want homeland security funds for NY City.

Why are they clogging up the news with this insignificant crap when they should be covering what John Mark Karr had for breakfast!

I found only one other result on a news search (google, NY Raid keywords), but "The page you requested is currently unavailable."

Certainly isn't getting much attentionHmmmm----maybe the Lamestream media don't want to call attention to the possibility that these guys were caught through the President's making it possible to listen in on their phone calls, etc. Can't have that, can we?

that the local community was apparently not a targetSounds reasonable actually, seeing as it's the Tamils.

Bet it's getting loads of attention in Sri Lanka.
Unless people are directly threatened like they are from Muslim terrorists, you will find they don't really care so much.

Updates say that some Canadians were also arrested (Toronto Sun). Reuters Alert Net also has updates saying authorities made arrests in Sri Lanka "within hours" of US arrests.

I certainly hope they did not violate these people's rights with an illegal search and seizure. If so, I'm going to be soooooooooooooo mad.
