NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.
The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.
It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.
"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.
"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."
A who's who of Hollywood heavyweights joined Kidman on the ad.
The actors listed included: Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton and William Hurt.
Directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Dick Donner and Sam Raimi also signed their names.
Other Hollywood powerplayers supporting the ad included Sumner Redstone, the chairman and majority owner of Paramount Pictures, and billionaire mogul, Haim Saban.
The statement said that if terror around the world is not stopped, chaos will rule

Here it is, with the ORIGINAL title. The other thread's title is not correct.
Ridley Scott also directed "Thelma and Louise" and "G.I. Jane." LOL! Yes, I'm mildly surprised to see this name; I believe he's British and that I heard him say something predictably liberal not long ago. Well, people can wake up, it can happen...
Isn't Michael Douglas jewish?
Seeing as how he threw his support to the insurgency, said that they will win, and that we deserve to be run out, licking out wounds, he's already taken a side in the war on terror. The miserable failure supports terrorism and opposes America.
I can understand Willis and Woods signing this, but guys like Douglas and Redstone??
First the NSA came for my gun, but I didn't have a gun so I did nothing.
Then they came for my drink bottle, but I fly first class and did nothing.
Then they came for my shampoo, perfume, and cosmetics....
Lucy's a Kiwi. I don't think she's ever lived in Michigan.
The language of movies has changed. They are shot for the big screen but ultimately for tv/home video.
Additionally there are many people (grown adults, INCLUDING Dopey Roeper who reviews movies alongside Roger Ebert) who don't like black and white movies.
Ironically, black and white cinema may have done more to help suspend disbelief. And they use CGI for everything these days.
But all of that is the trappings. The plots, dialogue, and morals have gotten worse too.
You know not whereof you speak. The Governator spoke to a pro-Israel rally that drew thousands of participants here in Los Angeles on July 23rd. I was there. He said clearly that Israel not only has a right to exist but a right to defend itself. It was a very good speech, and he was enthusiastically received. He also recounted his many travels to Israel, beginning back in his professional body builder days.
So, there.
The Blue Room. Saw it in NYC. Being a girl, the thing I remember most about it was the guy who did the naked cartwheel.
It's amazing you still have an account here. Don't let any facts or information deter you. Don't do any research on Gary Sinise, one of the signers, either. Really, it might rock your world.
Yep, Gary's got an agenda alright, one of the damn finest agendas of any American I've known. Can't beat his acting either.
She will never work in clueless Hollywood again, sad.
She'll always be welcome back here at home!
Well. Bully for this list of people I liked already. (Well, except for Michael Douglas. What's up with that?)
Theres clout in that there ad.
Now what will Sean Penn have to say?
it isn't, no teeth behind it, just statements. worthless.
