Why so many garbage articles?

When I check into this site, often there were interesting discussions from the day before I want to look at. But they are already buried 4 pages deep because it seems some people just post anything they find. Who cares about a radio station promotional announcements, Bruno Kirby dying, or any of this other tripe that some people are posting up. I'm new here, but it seems that some guys are pretty much spamming the blog with articles that rate a "1" on the who gives a crap meter. If it isn't something that we will still remember in 10 years, please think twice about starting the thread. Am I off base?

There is a whole chat/general section of FR for less political threads.

methinks you may be using the "latest posts" page to scan the forum.

Use the side bar or the specific topics screener to peruse the thousands of topics and sort out what you want to read.

We are not a myopic group. The forum is far too large to use the latest posts to read it.

personally, I use the side bar to keep from reading chat and vanities.

your post is a vanity that will soon be remove from it's incorrect placement on the side bar. So now I am PO'd because I read this in the first place.

What really ticks me off is when a perfectly good thread is hijacked by somebody with a private agenda who just can't shut up about it. Which brings us to the topic of toilet seats. I mean, here we have a country in which you can buy $200 tennis shoes personally molded to every wart and bunion on your unwashed, toe-jam-encrusted feat but you can buy what, maybe two sized of toilet seat? What if your butt doesn't fit them? We aren't all built like fashion models, you know, and when you're sitting there reading the latest Soap Opera Digest and your feet are falling asleep because you're constipated as all git out from eating that extra-cheese pizza for dinner the previous evening, well, wouldn't you figure a decent custom toilet seat would at least allow you to stand up to reach the reading light? But no. We get two options - round and oval, and if the one doesn't make a lifesaver-size mark in yer tookus the other one will let little kids tumble in and then the parents sue you for having an attractive nuisance in yer bathroom when you flush the thing with them still trapped in there because you couldn't find your glasses.

That's what bugs me. Thanks for allowing me to get it off my chest.
