Just a thought, but with the high number of wounded that Israel both with civilians and the IDF, would it be possible to start a blood drive from Freepers. Any ideas or discussion on this would be appreciated.
Just gave blood today for a little boy with a blood disease. Your idea is great. Somebody here will have some connections and get us started.
Check with Fed Ex about sending the blood. They are really good about things like this.
I have sent an email to their embassy but it is too early for a reply. In case you are not watching the news, they had well over 100 wounded just today.
I'll check around.
First I have contacted Israel's embassy and am waiting for a reply. This would be kind of neat if we could get a drive like this on national news.
Sad news. May God show us how to help them.
I would do this gladly. I will try to watch this thread.
The thing is how do you get them the blood? The Red Cross would probably be a good place to start. I know some may not like them due to their actions over Saddam "Is he being treated right etc etc" (remember?) but let me tell you, last year there was a huge fire in my apt building and they were like Godsends to me. I was stuck out in the street shoeless, shirtless, watching my apt get destroyed by water wondering what park I was going to sleep in that night, and they came out of nowhere and saved my ass bigtime.
Thank you so much for thinking of this kind and urgent humanitarian gesture. Over 100 IDF troops were wounded today.
If you want to donate blood to Israeli civilians and IDF troops, please contact Magan David Adom at: http://www.afmda.org
The International Red Cross is not the American Red Cross.
Wouldn`t the American one be able to set up something with the international one though?
Ping!
I think your idea is excellent! In addition, perhaps they could get some blood from the Hezbollah prisoners. No more than six quarts from each one.
Whoa, is that real? I might send pizzas for a company or two!
Israel-Laad is on the ground in Kiryat Shmona and throughout the northern border handing out food and other essentials in shelters. I know. I am part of this relief team - and my car was hit by a Katusha ;> We need your help.

Actually when the IDF invaded last time they found Christians stacked like cordwood in a Palestinian hospital. Seems they were draining them like blood storage bags.
I remember that :(
I have a link to a wounded soldier's project found on this web site:
